Before Rin can even continue after 'or', the professor answers "Yes" with minor annoyance in his tone. "...Sowry," for when Rin does finish the second half of his question.
"Still," he continued, "I've expressed this before. Nothing makes me more alive. Whether it's fighting, destruction - well, I suppose the easy blackmailing turned dull - uh, regardless."
He turns half way from the countertop towards Rin. "You seem to find that impossible - do you not want that answer, kiddo, or...?"

Forked tongue extends past his lips, letting out a frustrated hisssss briefly, towards the cat as he slithers between Meowth and what is meant to be experiment fodder for his next creation idea, all caged up nice and pretty. Inside is a towering creature of fangs and sharp claws, restless and growling at the two beyond its bars. Venomous picks up on the growing tension, and instead takes in a long deep breath. As frustrating as the sudden angry outburst was, the notion of turning one's back on a deal, it's a whole lot worse to be discourteous when it comes to business.
"Alright, alright... I apologize, but I'm failing to see the issue. You've done your work, I have your payment - but there's...something. About the land shark you and your pals nabbed?" Don't tell him there's a conscience within the mob selling these 'pokemon'...

The villain pauses on the steps at the callout, eyes looking towards the source. So it is directed at him. This already feels reminiscent of heroes stopping him in the middle of grocery shopping, picking a fight...
With a hand retreating to a pocket, he continues up to the top of the school steps, closer to the hero. "'That guy' is me," said with the sarcasm of someone who's done a similar song and dance before. "The purple one. It's tough, you know - you always got people labelling you as 'that guy' because of it. I'm more than just that..."
i am hoping to knock out replies. i dont know if i already asked this since getting my new computer but just in case, my method of thread tracking doesnt really carry over computer to computer. i have tried to look up existing threads i know exist but if there's something you're waiting on me for,, i'd like to know to add it to my list,

"Huh." He's never thought to wonder, but suppose it makes some sense - what else could have been there? Has he ever considered trying mammoth in experiments? "Think I would've bet something like...stone plates..."
THE FACT IT'S SO SERENE almost makes him angrier - anyone would be at peace here. Except him, of course; somehow, it feels like a trap, to try and let his guard down. The lush flora around them is something he's completely unused to, more accustomed to the harsh sand and wind the Keyblade Graveyard provided. It felt like an unspoken challenge hung in the air, threatening him as it lurked beyond his senses.
He stares suspiciously at the fruit offered to him, but… not as suspicious as someone who knows what a hand grenade is would look. He’s more familiar with key to key and magic sorta fighting, not anything else. Either way, he seems too unsure to take a bite, but not unsure enough to avoid licking it. If there’s something wrong with it, surely that little couldn’t hurt. Besides, he was hungry!
.. although, he does stop once he actually explains he plans to use them for something.
“Yeah, well, I’m doing great at it! Since apparently all it means is walking around the woods somewhere and looking and random… whatever these are.”
A brief pause as he turns it over in his hands once more.
“What are these? How do you plan on doing something with 'em?”
There's a endeared chuckle as he watches Vanitas stick his tongue on the plant. Reminds him of a newborn exploring the world for the first time. There's a salty metallic taste to the 'fruit''s skin, with a subtly sweet aftertaste.
"There's certain plants whose seeds are spread by explosion," he plucks another one, glancing it over, "This is one of them. Nicknamed 'grenade fruit' because if you pull the stem," he then turn around, tugging at the 'pin' of the 'grenade,' then throwing it off the mountain side in the same direction as the pebble Vanitas kicked off earlier - KA-BOOM! The smile turns to a grin as startled birds suddenly flock to the skies, their harmony now discordant, slowly fading as they flee. Wherever the fruit's seeds have ended up, none appear to have been in the pair's direction.
"I could try modifying to have a bigger punch, though. Larger bursts are always more fun." He half expects to be ignored at this point - he practically showed a kid a fun new toy, why not play?
HE WAS DETERMINED TO GET HIS WAY, no matter how long it took. He’d hoped his intimidation factor would speed up the process, but unfortunately the Professor was unflappable in that regard. Figures. His blunt look gains a sharp edge to it as he casually mentions the torture he’d previously enabled, but shoves it below the surface; as he tends to do with most of his more intense emotions. Physically, he's taken off guard when the other pushes him to the side. It allows him to put some distance between the two before he goes to catch up.
"I’M NO HERO - and I would be surprised if you forgot your work with someone as notable as The Emperor. I was once his apprentice. Perhaps that will make things more clear for you. You’re lucky I’m giving you the chance to cooperate in the first place - if I were still as cruel as I once was, I would have cut you in half by now. All I need are and any all medical files he would have provided you with. You have no reason to withhold them from me. You can only make this easier for the both of us."
HOPEFULLY THAT SHOULD BE REASON ENOUGH. He owes it to his son to try and negotiate a solution without violence, appealing to whatever form of empathy he may have instead. Luke's influence must be rubbing off on him if he's really trying this. The odds of anyone - especially anyone the Emperor collaborated with - doing something that would benefit another only because they could were low.
Venomous continues to walk at first, hand empty as it exits the pocket to find the other inside of his coat. But once he hears 'medical files' he stops once more, sighing.
"You're lucky I'm letting you talk. Why am I wanting disclose something from a customer to someone else marching up, annoying me with threats and demands? Just to not die?" He turns, eyes narrowed towards Anakin. "By all means, cut me in two, clearly you don't need those -" what did he say again? uh, um - "files. Surely you can get them elsewhere. That's why you're demanding them from me." Note his sarcasm. It sounds more like Venomous and perhaps one of the villains calling themself 'Emperor' out there are the only ones that have these...
"Stars are balls of plasma that vary in size, color, and temperature as well as certain makeup. Our own sun is a yellow dwarf star. Stars have played part in calendars and mythology across the world for generations, and nearly every culture has some kind of constellation. The first known star chart found was carved out of mammoth ivory!"

IT'S OWN PURPOSE for being here was similar to Venemous's own; it appreciated the solitude of its laboratory, but the isolation could sometimes become suffocating. Too similar to being trapped again. And so, a walk and a fresh, warm beverage seemed like a good way to fix such a problem. Besides, it couldn't be accused of overworking itself this way. Looking to make itself comfortable, its gaze is drawn to the other clear example of workaholic. Easily the individual it would get along with easiest.
IT NODS AT THE QUESTION, smiling as he moves things aside to make space. How polite. Sitting in the offered spot, it can't help but take a cursory look over the paperwork the other was working on. Its open eye brightens with recognition, a digit reaching out and pointing at the writing. His signing is quicker than before, eager to share its input.
"I recognize some of what you are working on. I apologize for my abrupt intrusion, but do you require assistance? My own research is.. frustrating at the current moment, so a distraction would be welcome."
This should be the end of that. He bows his head back down, thinking he can go back to checking over formulas and answers, there'll be no need to communicate further - And then comes a sudden bone placed near his papers, asking for his attention again. The professor lets out a tiny sigh, eyes turning up to the excited stranger, who starts its flurry of signing. He catches a hand nested in a palm going from itself to him - so 'me' 'to' 'you'? Motioned to the papers first before that... Venomous tenses, quiet. He keeps his arm on his side of the table, but the pen points to the other, then himself, as if the motion would help him understand what's being said. The work is obviously the thing its interested in...is it asking about what he's doing? "I'm just grading..." that can't be the exciting part, though. "You..." his eyes glance to the floor, "study biochemistry too, I take it? Or-" his free hand goes over his face.
"Look - sorry - I don't understand a word you're saying."

An arm rested on the table near the small pile of papers, red pen flittering between two fingers as he stares. The other was propping up with his hand holding his head, digits tangled in his hair. Cafes occasionally felt like the best place to get some work done - mainly for the change of scenery from his desk, and a quiet the factory could never bring. A dark shape approached the end of the table that takes Venomous's focus. He watches the hands move - oh cob, what are they saying? - stilling as he's trying to piece together what two skeletal fingers hooking around two flat ones on the other hand is supposed to mean. Like setting something down...set... down -
"You're wanting to sit?" he sits up, one hand now gesturing to the chair opposite of him, the other stopping the pen as it starts to slide papers away from the empty chair's end, "Go right ahead."
