But the excerpt is interesting because he didn’t seem to care about being recognized as a musician back in 2012 but he definitely cares very much in 2017. He uploaded “How I Made Slide” on YouTube, listed every instrument he plays in the liner notes for each track on FWB V1, appeared in the Feels mv playing a bass guitar, & uploaded the Instrumentals for every track on YouTube. Tired of being disrespected by critics & haters, he is beating them over the head w/ proof of his talents. The Scowl™ says, “Take me seriously, dammit.”

Oh come on 23k wouldn't land you in the top 50, 5 years ago. I think what happened he used artists that has received bad press recently. Migos ( homophobic comments) Katy ( putting her foot in her mouth/poor Album/single sales) Ariana hasn't had a hit since she was caught licking donuts, Nicki is plague with helping bail her brother out of jail for raping a 12 year old and no one is checking for Pharrell like The Weeknd /Bruno.

There’s a lot of factors that came to play NOT just the guest artist. whatever it is, the album still is amazing (biases aside). a lot of the brilliant albums really goes unnoticed by the general public unfortunately. just a matter of taste, and the usual rounds of promotion by the artist.

Of course Calvin was expecting bigger numbers than 23k pure sales. His tweets weren't about getting #1 but poor album sales in the US.. motion was #5 on BB w/130k pure sales and no big stars featured. Yes the music industry has changed over the years but you still had Ed, Harry and sadly the Chainsmokers opening w/ great first week sales. Instead of spending a shitload of money on Billboards in major cities, he should've interviewed on radio/ Tv.

He wasn’t so visible in promoting this new album, that’s true. was expecting him to do the radio rounds to promote this, both in the UK and US.

People buying CDs not anymore . It's everywhere in the Top 10 official Charts . His album is WW hit album . Some people here need to chill . It's for a reason why the chainsmokers and Jay Z gave CDs for free the first 2 weeks

Absolutely agree.

Those numbers are so disappointing. With features from Ariana, Nicki, Pharrell and KP. I thought it would sell at least 150k pure sales.

i am pretty disappointed myself considering how BOMB his new album is (biases aside). But let’s get real. numbers is not what determines a great album and music fans are quite fickle. Calvin should be very very proud because this is one of his best album by far.

Just wait till the other wannabees follow his style too. Calvin is an original, and he is paving the way to how new music should sound.
