“I don’t know how else to explain it to you, Cam, it just kind of… happened.” The girl looked away as her friend examined the mark on her face, hoping this wouldn’t turn into a big argument. “I didn’t want you to feel dragged, get hurt or get angry. That’s why I pushed you to stay home.” Kylie frowned as she followed after him before following his orders and taking a seat. “I tried to get her out nicely but she just wouldn’t leave so I took all her shit and left with it– every single dose. Sure enough she followed me out but not without a fight and as always child lock was necessary. She um… she told me she hated me.”
“And because, ‘it just kind of happened’, you have this on your face,” packing some ice into a small plastic bag, Cameron moved to stand in front of the girl. “I told you once and I’ll say it again, Kylie Ross we are friends and I fucking love you. There’s not a thing I wouldn’t do for you and I’m just really mad.” he gently tipped her head back, moving a few strands of her hair behind her hair and slowly placing the bag over the bruise. “I’m not mad at you--I’m mad at this woman and that she hurt you--that anyone hurt you.” he informed her more calmly now. “What for? For being an amazing daughter and dealing with her? She doesn’t know shit.”
