âItâs a nod to Trayvon, no question. Trayvon Martin and people like him. People like Jordan Davis, a kid who was shot because of the perception that he was a danger. When youâre a black man in a hoodie all of a sudden youâre a criminal. Thatâs something we shouldnât have to deal with, but we do. Itâs a double standard. We canât cover our head when itâs cold and raining because God forbid someone sees us and puts our life in danger. We wanted to pay homage to that â itâs not something we were shying away from.â [Mike Colter; Luke Cage]

There is one word that describes TLOP. TLOP came off the back off a perfect six album run, and Kanye knew this. He brought in everyone he could to work on this thing. TLOP wasnât as abrasive as Yeezus It wasnât as beautiful and Dark Fantasy It wasnât as emotional as 808s and Heartbreak. It wasnât as happy as Graduation. It wasnât as soulful as Late Registration. It wasnât as soulful or classic as College Dropout, which had no expectations. Kanye has said how he hates making happy music. He prefers to make music with a meaning or filled with emotions. The Life Of Pablo isnât perfect, thatâs for sure, but itâs completely underrated, expected to take Kanyeâs discography higher. It didnât take it higher, but it certainly didnât ruin it. In Kanyeâs words, TLOP was âgospelâ. That is to say itâs the life of Kanye (Famous, Father Stretch My Hands, 30 Hours, Real Friends), the word of Kanye, the good news (Feedback, Highlights, Waves), Kanyeâs doctrine (No More Parties In LA, Fade), a collection of stories (Freestyle 4, FML, Wolves) and the writings of the followers that surrounded Kanye (everyone who worked on the album). Not just the genre of music itself. But for me, the word that best describes TLOP is a word that describes an album which takes every element and combines it in a form of an abstract gospel sound contrasted by itâs content. It is a bit of everything. It brings: House (Fade) Bangers (Facts) Electronic (Feedback/Freestyle 4) Soul (FSMH, NMPILA, Famous) Sampling (Everything) Filler/Skits (Low lights, Silver Surfer) Emotional music (FML, Wolves, Real Friends, 30 Hours). Happy music (Highlights, Ultra Light Beam) Letâs also not forget that I Love Kanye focuses on ones self, and resonates with ideas in the Post Modern. The ordering is strange as well. Why place such a heavy song such as Feedback next to Famous or Low Lights, or Freestyle 4 next to I Love Kanye? There is only one word. The Life of Pablo is Surreal just like Picassoâs work and just like Kanyeâs life. It is Fact and Fantasy.

At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.Â
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. Â At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne ( from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didnât get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didnât release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didnât get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didnât begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didnât become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You arenât a failure because you havenât found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, itâs okay if you donât even know what your dream is yet. Even if youâre flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where youâll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself youâre too old to make it.Â
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.Â
Never tell yourself that you arenât good enough.Â
You can do it. Whatever it is.Â
Needed this today whether this information is accurate or not. Thank you â¤ď¸
