“Oh hello there! And who might you be?”
“Rory, Rory Williams.”
“Well then, Hello Rory, Rory Williams! I am Sir Lancelot.”
“Like the knight? Well, aren’t we the history channel?”
“I am a knight yes! What is a history channel?”
“It’s… never mind. Would you believe I was a Roman warrior. Still am.”
“You’re a roman soldier? Seriously? Only you really don’t like one.”
“Yeah, well, sort of. I don’t have to always wear the armor, it is optional for daily use.”
"You don't? You wear those weird clothes in it's place?"
“That is correct! I am Sir Lancelot.” He confirmed calmly. He looked at the boy still. He was quite concerned. He looked lost. He wanted to help him out the best he could because he was just too kind. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, young Sam.” He smiled.
“Anything I could help you with?”
“This cannot be happening.” Sam said to himself, wanting to wake up if this was a dream like he was assuming this was. ”Well, sir Lancelot… I’m really, really lost if this is where I think it is.” If this was really Lancelot, then this was Camelot, or somewhere near there.
Lancelot rested his hand on the top of his sword as he listened to Sam speak. "You're in Camelot, well just outside of Camelot. Camelot's about five minutes away! The actual castle is. Where do you come from?" He asked.

“Hello there young man.” Lancelot greeted kindly. He creased his eyebrows together and he stared at the boy. “I’m Sir Lancelot. Who might you be?” He questioned.
“Sir…. Lancelot?” He knew that name, Lancelot the knoble, one of the knights of the round table. He knew for a fact his brother had teased him many times for knowing too many things about the Arthurian legend; when his brother had told him more then once that ‘it was useless information that would never come in handy on a hunt’
“My names Sam.” He finally replied after a moment.

“Hello there sir! How’d you get here?”
The diplomatic time lord just shrugged a bit as he eyed his transformed TARDIS which took the from of a hat upon his head
“I don’t know really… I’ve just been wondering from place to place”
Lancelot stared at the male before him, eyebrows raised.
“You’ve been wondering from place to place and you do not know how you ended up here? Makes sense I suppose.”
He shrugged.
“Indeed it dose”
“But here’s an odd question for you: What year is it?”
He asked with a bit of concern on the subject.
"You don't know what year it is? It's the year 450." He answered. "Why?"

“Uh… hi there,” Sam greeted, a little confused as to the clothing the other man wore. In fact he was a little confused as to where he was in the first place, he didn’t recognize his surroundings and it made him rather nervous. ”Who are you?”
"Hello there young man." Lancelot greeted kindly. He creased his eyebrows together and he stared at the boy. "I'm Sir Lancelot. Who might you be?" He questioned.
Friends Reunited. (Lancelot & Merlin)
He looked at Merlin again. “Do you think that if I hadn’t let Gwen go, things would be different?” He asked curiously. “Like none of this would have happened.” He added. He didn’t know where this was going but he bugged him. He was concerned now. It wasn’t Guinevere’s fault. It was Morgana’s. He shook his head, trying to shake the conversation off. “Actually it doesn’t matter.” He said soon after. He was over Guinevere, so he thought he was but he couldn’t hold onto that any more. “What about you, Merlin? You still alone?” He asked curiously.
“You’ve nothing to be sorry for, Merlin.” He assured his friend. “You didn’t know. It’s fine. I was sleeping actually and then the smell of fire woke me. So not your fault. You thought I was dead.” Lancelot said. “So no blaming yourself, okay?” He said.
He listened to Merlin’s words and he nodded his head. If he was to face Arthur then he would face any sort of punishment whether Arthur knew the truth or not. “I see. I don’t blame him to be honest. He wasn’t to know the truth. I wouldn’t be angry with him. I’m not angry with anyone.” He admitted. “Would he listen if you brought Morgana and Agravaine up?” He asked. He wasn’t in a hurry to prove him and Guinevere were innocent. Actually he was, just so Guinevere could come home, where she truly belonged. By Arthur’s side. Whatever happened to him, it didn’t matter. “Thank you, Merlin! For everything you’ve ever done.”
Opening his mouth to answer his friend, Lancelot spoke once more, stating how the thing he wished to know shouldn’t be answered, which was well with Merlin, for the warlock honestly had no idea how to respond. Yet, raising an eyebrow, he shook his head with a grin. “Come on, Lancelot. I’ve been too busy to think about starting a relationship with a woman, and even if I did… I couldn’t put them at the risk they would be in.”
Of course, he was not entirely convinced of the Knight’s words when he spoke of not blaming himself. Surely he should have checked. “It’s a good thing you managed to jump into the lake.”
Shaking his head, Merlin’s gaze fixed itself up the man. “Arthur is blind when it comes to all accusations against Agravaine. He won’t listen to a word against him. He thinks that Agravaine’s loyalties are to him and Camelot, not Morgana.” Frowning, Merlin shook his head. “Why are you thanking me? I haven’t done anything, and you are my friend. Of course I’m going to help you.”
He didn't mind not knowing. He couldn't change any of it so there wasn't much point in talking about or dwelling on it. He also had a feeling Merlin didn't have a clue. He asked too many questions. Lancelot laughed a little. "Okay good point! They'd be in a lot of danger and stuff." Lancelot agreed. "Yes, also too busy saving his royal backside." The man grinned. "So other than protecting Arthur, what have you been up to?" He asked curiously.
"Honestly, what happened, happened. You really weren't to know so it doesn't matter." Lancelot wished he could convince Merlin otherwise. He wasn't sure if it was working. "Of course. It was a lovely swim though." He grinned.
He sighed. "Wouldn't this convince him?" He asked. "I mean I'm me. My own self now. I've never told a lie to Arthur and no offence Merlin, but I'm kinda more convincing than you." He stated. "Because you taught me a lot." He smiled. "You helped me. You've done a lot. I'll always thank you. There's only two things I've ever done for you and that's keeping your secret and sacrificing myself for you! Yes after you spoke to the dragon, I had to sacrifice myself for you." He admitted.

“You have a very strange name, sir! Sorry I don’t mean to sound rude! I am Sir Lancelot du Lac. No! There’s a 21st Century?”
“Yeah, well I’m a very strange man. Hello, Sir Lancelot du Lac. Bit of a mouthful, in’t it? Shall I just call you Lancelot? There are lot of centuries beyond the 21st. To be honest, the 21st is a bit rubbish. Not worth getting excited about. Now, the 37th. That was a good one. Anyway, listen to me, running on. You’re a knight, aren’t you?”
“Well, you said it. Yes you may call me Lancelot. I do not mind at all. My name isn't a mouthful, is it? There is? This is the fifth. Are you from the future or something? The 37th century? Are you insane? Not all there? I don't know. Oh, I am being rude. Please do forgive me, sir. Yes, a knight of Camelot, sir. Oh, I like you already.”

Uh! Hello there sir!”
“Oh! Hello! I’m the Doctor. Just, er, the Doctor. Not Sir Doctor. Although, that does have a bit of a ring to it. Just a wild stab in the dark, but we’re not in the twenty-first century, are we?”
"You have a very strange name, sir! Sorry I don't mean to sound rude! I am Sir Lancelot du Lac. No! There's a 21st Century?"
Friends Reunited. (Lancelot & Merlin)
He smiled back at Merlin. He had always known that Merlin wouldn’t be hard on him. He was such an understanding man. He was Lancelot’s best friend and he always would be. He stayed beside the window and he glanced outside. It was such a beautiful sight from here. “Thank you!” He simply said. He breathed out calmly, and he turned around to face his old friend. The smile still remained.
“But still I am so sorry.” Lancelot said. He felt guilty. He hated that he had hurt his friend even if he wasn’t himself. He watched as Merlin lit the candles around the room. “But I hurt you, I cannot forgive myself for that even if I wasn’t myself.” He admitted. “How….How’s Arthur and Gwen?” He finally asked. He spent years trying not to come between the two.
He grinned back at Merlin, not knowing what to say next. “I thought that you would be angry.” He admitted honestly. “Thank you, I’m glad to be back. Kind off.” He smiled. He heard Merlin’s question and he stayed quiet. He rubbed the back of his neck and he sighed. “I’ve been in the forest, building fires for the night. I have no where else to go. Camelot was my home.”
“You should try to forgive yourself,” Merlin’s words were quiet as he glanced to his friend, the corners of his mouth tilted upwards in a small smile that faltered at the prospect of having to answer the question he was posed with. “Arthur ended up banishing Gwen. He thought he couldn’t trust her.” Pausing, Merlin shook his head. “It’ll be alright though. He’ll come to his senses and realize that he’s being a fool.”
Blinking as he straightened from where he had lit the last candle, Merlin raised an eyebrow with a quizzical look. “You thought I’d be angry?” He questioned. “Why? Because of what you did? That wasn’t you. Just…a shadow of you. I saw the real you again by the lake.”
“You should have come back sooner. I’m not sure how Arthur’ll react to seeing you though,” He shot Lancelot an apologetic look. “It is good to have you back though.”
“I can not. I don’t think I ever will.” Lancelot admitted. He moved himself from the window and he lent against the wall, arms crossed. He listened to Merlin’s answer and he frowned. “Are you being serious?” Lancelot asked. Now he felt a little worse even though it was Morgana’s doing. He cleared his throat and he sighed. “I hope so! They deserve each other. I suppose.” He mumbled. He still loved Gwen, more than anything.
He stared down at the floor and he shrugged his shoulders. “Because of what happened, and me returning. I know Morgana did this but it was my actions that tore those two apart and hurt you.” He responded. “Yes, that’s where I woke up. The boat was on fire and so I jumped into the lake.” Lancelot shrugged. “Thanks for the nice send off though.” He smiled.
“I couldn’t, Merlin. Not after what had happened.” Lancelot said back. “I’m more than certain Arthur will have my head if he saw me back here. Did you not ever tell him what really happened?” Lancelot wondered. He shrugged his shoulders. “Not your fault.” He gave him another smile. “Thank you. It is good to see you again.”
Blinking with surprise, Merlin shifted from foot to foot as he looked to the floor. He knew that Lancelot still cared for Guinevere more than life itself, and giving him a small shrug, he said nothing. He couldn’t say anything, for he knew nothing of the woes and wins of love. He had not experienced it long enough with Freya to ever really know, and the rest of the women who came and went from Camelot’s walls all seemed to be pining after Arthur, so what did he know of it personally?
“Sorry,” He mumbled, frowning. He hadn’t realized that Lancelot had been alive when he’d committed the boat to fire, only thinking of a proper farewell for the friend that had, for all reasons, appeared to have slipped into the void.
Shrugging slightly, Merlin shook his head. “Would Arthur have been clear-minded enough to realize that it hadn’t been you? For how much he was concerned, you were acting as yourself, though he did say of your greatness, despite adding on that it was in all ways but one. He was hurting though. He had no idea that you were not yourself, and he wouldn’t listen to much of anything. I’ll see if I can convince him that you were a Shade now though. He might be more willing to listen.”
He looked at Merlin again. “Do you think that if I hadn't let Gwen go, things would be different?” He asked curiously. “Like none of this would have happened.” He added. He didn't know where this was going but he bugged him. He was concerned now. It wasn't Guinevere's fault. It was Morgana's.
