got High last night and scrolled eBay for hours with my mouth open like an Autistic micro plastic baby before buying a CD for $5.08

when u hear a name like aphrodisiac u really think its gonna be some shit like either autechre (which i still dont understand as a sonic concept) or burial. this was neither for me.
When I listened to this album at like 14 i didnt finish it because i thought i was boring and better than cammy or some jargon, If im remembering right. and its been on my mental list of things to listen to which is growing in the thousands
The first track is like kind of angsty? in a way? its like a slothenly acceptance of defeat before the album starts. like "this is my band, and we're going to play this Fucking song and Fuck you." In a way.
Second track still has that bassline, and a bunch of tempo changes that keep me sort of there
third track has the piano and then those drums come in @~0:47 with still the same rhythm in the bass but now its more of a different sound. like it reminds me of a video game and we're not even halfway through the song. like a portal mod . but not portal portal. like portal 2 flash demake portal. @2:45 the drum selection is different more frantic, and that screeching guitar sound not too long after
track 4 the frantic drums again, and now it sounds like hl uplink in only the first like 20 seconds. and a kind of? tempo change @0:38. like the alarm sound you hear in hl1. and then that growling bass @1:08 dude thats ear candy. always enjoy ear candy it's always a pleasant surprise. and at the ending of the song its just like speeding up but slowly. and then it just sits you down and was like "sooooo. ya!" like that one girl thats clearly a furry/therian/whatever venting on her private account about the most like terrible shit thes going through and you're just kind of like "whaaat the fuck." crazy comparison i know. bare with me.
as soon as we even press play on track 5 its like an ambient sort of chord at the start but then it goes to drone, and it has that same sort of key/feeling/sound selection that those stupid ass mesothelioma+asbestos exposure settlement commercials have. its nice. and then @1:10 we have this sequential synth which kind of brings it all together and an organ type sound shortly after? nice. i thought the song was done @ 3:18 and then it goes back! and then its this crazy like reese bass? with a growling sort of sound. and that angelic like subharmonic thing comes back, but its not complimenting the organ that we heard earlier. it's just on its own. and thats cool.
and now we get to chimerical! this song i only remember because it sounded crazy. the demo version was one I listened to and it reminded me of like sitting in a dimly lit basement playing cards. i had no patience or care for sequential stuff in albums. but the chime reminds me of like samsung smart fridges. and the basses are even more crazier in the album version. and the drums as well. and the like dialogue before going back to this like dreadful miserable ass bass bro, and theres sort of a mechanical whine to the stuff as well. the last 30 seconds are just like repetitive but its in a good way. its like saying fuck over and over again
the accompanying sound that comes in before that sort of chime in track 7 is really crazy. and then the drone-ish sort of bass and then we go into the drum section and its really simple. simplicity is never a bad thing. i kind of like that arpeggio @~1:15. and then it goes back into bass. really cool. and then he just lets the horns rock @~1:51, and theres also a choir type instrument in there. but the good thing is that the attack and release arent really noticable so it sounds chopped. maybe im looking too much into it but thats cool. @~2:54(?) reminds me of like five nights at freddys. that living tombstone song is stuck in my head. @3:30 ? nigga are you serious? that accompanying bell with the delay on it is a nice touch
and then we get to track 8! this one i also remember because its a long voicemail and a gritty something something. something about neocities and kyle drake here. idk why he put that in there but it was personal to him or some like that. never asked him. cause it wasnt my business. and i didnt really care at the time. the drums are angsty, i was reading the lyrics page . sorry . @+/- 2:57 the bass gets more distorted a growly, and then it goes into some shit i would hear my brother play in the car. and its an suv. you cant really play heavy metal in an suv. suvs are for rick ross. but anyway, this song is still really crazy and its not done yet. @3:57 it goes into like these drums and this weird voice-like thing. i dont know if that was intentional but it's cool. and then he just lets the voices/static sort of rock.
Im going to keep it a buck 30 billion with yall i really did not fuck with that dude when i met him however long ago and that really clouded my judgement of this album . it also helps that im not just sat in the crib all day listening to ken carson and shit . Cool stuff.
If there was like an anniversary mix tracks 5 and 7 would probably be a cool like burial type thing. ukg and things like that
Funny review, thanks for that. I cannot vouch for how good In Free Fall is to anyone but me, and I've done better since, but I still have the fuzzies for it six years later.

I didn't get to draw nearly as much as I would've liked to but a dozen drawings in a month is still quite a lot for me. plus I love every single one of them and they were a ton of fun to make. I'd like to thank everyone who attacked me! I have stored your attacks lovingly on my hard drive for me to look back on <3
