I am living in a beautiful city with a warm weather for summer but I am too giddy to bask in the true summer sun and plunge into a deep, calm and warm waters. And that made me book a ticket to Mallorca, Balearic Islands in Spain. Not just it is known because of its wondrous beaches but also because of Louisa Clark and Will Traynor in the hit movie Me Before You, that is why I decided I wanted to see it for myself.
We had a 50-minute travel from El Prat, Barcelona Airport to Mallorca International Airport. The view was like from a Metro Magazine photoshoot in the Sahara desert. It was a scorching 30-degree, but I loved it.
We journeyed for another 43 minutes to our hostel in Plaza de Meditteraneo that cost us €5 via public airport bus. The tickets are available in the station thru a machine. You can grab a taxi as well that might cost you around €40-50.
The hostel is situated in an elevated location where you can see the docks of yachts. The price is alright. There was no elevator though and we were in the 2nd floor but we had 4 single beds and it is just me and my friend staying in that room. Lol. So that was fine.
DAY 1.
We went around Palma to see the luxurious yachts and the friendly faces cycling and jogging in the streets. Of course, we did not waste the chance to have a photo op with the beach and the yachts. Then, we had our dinner in a not-so-fancy Spanish restaurant that cost us just €20 and we had tapas chorricitos and roast chicken that had huge servings we had to take it out after. Wink.
We headed thereafter to The Boathouse beside the dock. Had a nice boathouse feel inside the resto and a chilling-like-a-villain ambience outside with a bar at the center. We had a few, good bucket of Heineken that is €19. I wonder how it’d cost me having this booze in London? Man, this is place is amazing.
Fly high.
DAY 2. Our Parasailing and Banana Boat escapade
Meeting point was in between Club Nautico and the beach in WS Arenal. A 23-minute travel from ghe hostel. The beach was awesome! Clear, blue, calm and warm. Just what I was looking for. We rented 2 cots and an umbrella for €16. Had watermelon and a sun-tanned skin. We prebooked the activity via Sunboonoo.com at €41.
At 12:00, we went to the meeting point and sailed along with 10 people. It was my first time to do parasailing, so yes, I screamed the hell out of me. Haha! But the view was priceless! You can see every detail of Mallorca. The cliffs, rock formations, pristine waters, white sand. I am in love. It feels like I don’t want to go down the parachute. That was one picturesque scenery there captured by a shaking GoPro Hero4. Bad thing I was the one holding the camera. Haha! But, that was the best 10 minutes I had in Mallorca so far.
Afterwards, we headed to another boat to have a taste of a wild wild west Banana boat. My muscles ached after. We had to hold tight for us not to get out of the boat. Fortunately, I wasn’t thrown in the sea, but that was fun. I wanted to do it again.
Thereafter, we changed into our usual clothes and headed to one of the Spanish restos there to have a taste of their famous Paella and a pitcher of Sangria. Muy Bien! There are lots of restaurants, shops, ice cream parlours and souvenir shops around that you can choose from.
Come dinner time, and finished our unfinished Paella from lunch time. Haha! They had given us a huge serving we did not manage to binge in. Went to the boathouse still for another 2 buckets of Heineken and took their famous sausages after.
DAY 3. Palma Bay Snorkeling and Boat Tour
Meeting place was Club Nautico. Then rode the sail boat to Delta, Mallorca and one of the divers took his first dive. Continued to one of the deeper seas of Mallorca and the other 3 took their dive, and me and my co-snorkelers plunged as well. There were few fishes and too deep to see much of the aqua life. So, we transferred to another location near Delta, and that time it was superb. Pictures and stories cannot even describe its beauty. Superlatives cannot give justice to the impeccable waters of Mallorca. There were lots of tourists who took a dip as well. Some topless. Others floating on floaters. Few were basking in the sun.
After 3 hours of sunbathing and dipping, we went back to the resort. Changed, had a shower and gained lots of memories and new friends from that trip.
After checking out of the hostel we tried a sumptuous Italian meal and bid farewell to Mallorca’s wonders and waters. I will definitely go back, and relish the sun-kissed and sun-tanned Mallorca sun could offer. This is not farewell after all. Te veo Pronto, España!

An open letter to the man who saved and killed Sally.
I was a girl who loves fun, adventure and curiosity. There was a moment in my life that I partied till late. No going home until someone goes crawling and puking. And usually it is me. I was the girl who never cared about others. Just my friends and enjoyment. Then came love. I am not that usual, fine girl who finds love and keep it. I had lots of heartbreaks and heartaches most of the time. At…

Love is a many splendored thing
Love is a many splendored thing
Yes, I guess love is the only thing that makes the world go round. People love to talk about it over beer or whiskey and choose to skip sleep for those late night conversations. To be in love makes you jolly, and inspired and for some instances, it will leave you wounded and scarred. But why do we love to love even if it entails a life to make or break? Let me share to you my thoughts about this.…
