So, it’s in my humble opinion that if you haven’t already, you should read the fic Anyone But You by zamwessell. I’ve read it like 3 times now. 

Summary:

Hux has always had a plan for his life. It's going well. He's following in his father's footsteps with the College Republicans and writing for the prestigious "First Order" campus conservative magazine with his new friend Dopheld Mitaka. Until he meets Mitaka's roommate, Kylo Ren -- who is everything he shouldn't want.

The college AU that nobody asked for, where Hux is a very closeted up-and-coming young Republican and Kylo is his polar opposite and greatest temptation. With lots of late-night texts, drunk sex, and Grand Moff Tarkin propaganda.
