the idea of laura palmer is haunting because she's a woman suffering and people know she's suffering and don't do anything and then when she dies they make her into a saint and grieve her because she was too young to have gone through all that suffering like it's truly about how women's pain is only put in evidence when it's too late

if you were to remake possession (bad idea, not necessary, please just make original movies) but if, i would want to see a version of this fallen apart relationship taking place in poverty. lots of horror movies out there about toxic abusive crumbling romantic relationships but i can’t think of any where the main characters are struggling to survive or on the streets, but it’s those exact circumstances in real life that often force relationships to stay together much longer than they should
