i don’t know why but when shiro says “just give in keith, you don’t have to fight any more” after keith says “i love you,” it feels so raw to me? almost like kuron doesn’t want to hurt Keith anymore and is pleading with him to just stop fighting before kuron is forced to destroy the person he loves.

god yeah the entire battle is so emotional but this is SUCH an intense scene like first of all kudos to josh and steven for this scene in particular because they’re so talented and like you said you can really feel the raw emotion in their voice. kuron doesn’t sound at ALL like this is something he wants to do; he sounds like he’s really struggling. and i believe in josh’s abilities enough to not patronize him and suggest that kind of tone and inflection is an accident.

like immediately after keith says “i love you” you get this expression of shock before he steels himself again and just tells him to give in. even if kuron is a clone and honestly a person in his own right (he’s made his own connections, made his own memories, etc.) he’s still fundamentally shiro– he’s got shiro’s feelings and memories and emotions and that includes the part of shiro who never gave up on keith, believes in keith, and loves keith (platonically or romantically, however you want to interpret that). 

i think that’s what’s breaking through haggar’s control here, and she even said it herself– “the red paladin’s connection to you runs deeper than the others.” i just don’t think she accounted for the fact that that connection goes both ways. kuron doesn’t want to kill keith, or hurt him, the same way shiro wouldn’t. but i think this line indicates that kuron is at least somewhat self aware of haggar’s control over him at this point and doesn’t believe there’s any way to get around killing keith at this point– so he’d rather just end it quickly rather than prolong what he sees as something inevitable.

idk man but is it just me who like, physically cringes when they see someone post something that says along the lines of ‘vld got our hopes up by giving us a gay character and killing him!!!’ like???? Shiro? takashi shirogane? S H I R O?? is right there? yknow, the Main gay rep, the guy that’s been here for the whole show, has had way more screen time than like 30 seconds, someone we actually know and don’t have to make up a personality for that literally copies just keiths feelings for shiro onto him? that guy? yeah.

sorry im gonna go off a bit on this whole “lance is a rebound” argument bc while i really don’t care about whether or not you like allurance, it’s so annoying how sexist y’all come off when you knowingly/unknowingly suggest allura is manipulative and shallow enough to treat lance like a rebound.

the idea that someone has to wait a certain amount of time after a break up to move onto someone else is a ridiculous concept. if you’re single, if you’re ready to move on, and if you want to give a new relationship an honest chance, it doesn’t matter if that happens two days, two months, or two years after a break up.

rebounds happen when people date a new person out of spite, jealousy, anger, sadness, and to get over an old relationship while putting no care into this new relationship. so if you’re calling lance a rebound, you’re implicating allura of all this manipulative behavior.

which is totally unfair to her, because after being manipulated by a sociopath who enslaved, farmed, and killed her people, allura deserves to move on to someone who genuinely cares about her and has been supporting her for close to 4 seasons. and allura in no way, shape, or form would ever disrespect lance’s kindness by taking advantage of it for her own selfish purposes.

everyone also seems to forget that if lance were to be rejected by allura in this last season and move on to someone else, that someone else would also be a rebound based on your definitions. for some reason no one seems to have issue with this but is fine pointing out fallacies in allura’s and lance’s relationship bc they’re not happy with it.

like what you want, critique writing and flow all you want, but there is no evidence of allura treating lance like a rebound. as a woman who’s gone through her fair share of shit, she’s allowed to date whoever the fuck she wants whenever the fuck she wants to.
