I wonder if Occtis’ mom had something like protection from good and evil going on that made it so Occtis’ ties to the Tenebral Reaches were severed. Having seen what his older siblings were forced to partake in, maybe she thought. If he had no aptitude for magic, if that connection was severed entirely…maybe Primus would just lose interest in him and leave him be.

Or, alternatively (and I could be very wrong, because I’m not sure when exactly the Tachonis started to theorize that a sacrifice like Tertia might be entirely in vain, but…) it seems like Primus’ last child being born without powers is quite the happy accident, considering he’s exactly the kind of offering they need. It makes me wonder if he did sometime to ensure Occtis wouldn’t inherent that birthright, and always intended to have him sacrificed. Maybe Occtis’ mother found out, and attempted to just take him and get out—

#I also have a third thought kicking around but that one is #entirely a shot in a dark just based on something Alex said in the fireside chat #also maybe I missed something that was mentioned on why #Occtis specifically never inherited sorcerous abilities but #I am once again wondering about that and if his mom had anything to do with it—

oh, oh....Thimble and Occtis are so sweet. Occtis telling Thimble very sincerely that if anything bad happens, then she has to go, that he can't let her die.
