Elizabeth is delighted to see the princess beaming with joy! In fact, she thinks the added gemstones to her bow tie really make her outfit. But the princess's look isn't complete without braids throughout her golden locks-- something Elizabeth eagerly requests to do, holding up a hairbrush with a grin.

"Lest you can sing.. Unfortunately, I was handed fighting and combat." Caim took a drink of her water, having blown someone's ear drums out only a few moments prior. "What a blessing to have.."

With frustration written over his visage, he slammed the pen down drenching the papers beneath in ink. He balled him hands into fists, before a heavy sigh emitted from him. "I would believe I'm rather calm, Earl Trancy."

It was the never ending reminder of the pain, his body aching during random points in the week. He grew tiresome quickly, his condition felt as if it never got any better. It was no wonder his brother took over the duties with his demonic mutt-- he was a shell of his former, active self. Instead of him being the one to frolic in the gardens with Elizabeth, it was his brother.

And part of him finally understood his pain.

Paula knew that Elizabeth could see right through her if she attempted any sort of lie. The last thing she needed in her life right now was another falsehood, even if the honest truth would hurt, since the scars left by others still remained on her lady's fragile heart. "My lady, the dress itself is... unfortunately, with this type of fabric and the tea, I don't think it can be salvaged even if I scrubbed it delicately."

Paula knew this would tear her darling apart, but she was doing all she could to make it better. "I will do my best to see if Nina can possibly add some repairs and different fabric, or perhaps remake this dress into something special. At the very least, it's not your matching one with Earl Phantomhive, sweetie."

On the morning of the Midford arrival the skies had opened to release a torrential downpour; were Sebastian capable of weeping he would have wept that his plan to set the afternoon tea outside among the roses had been ruined, for he'd had no hint as to if the Marchioness would be accompanying her daughter and thus had spent days frazzling himself in an attempt to create a perfect refined atmosphere.

Bard, in a rare display of tactical brilliance not directly linked to a battle, had distracted Sebastian from taking out his frustration on the servants by running into the rain to scoop up one of Sebastian's little strays from where it was sheltering under the hedgerow, thrusting the pathetic bundle of wet fur into his arms. Sebastian had immediately melted; the servants had breathed a sigh of relief. The butler hadn't been seen again until the carriage had arrived for he'd been far too distracted drying and feeding and making a perfect little nest for Her, the most beauteous of Earth's creatures.

Mercy of mercies, Marchioness Midford hadn't accompanied her daughter and Sebastian had fallen back into his comfortable role as the provider of refreshments for the children - except at some point during the rainy visit Lady Elizabeth had vanished from the rooms where she ought to be.

Sebastian's simulated blood pressure crept up again as he silently searched for Lizzy among the rooms and halls, for her vanishment was a terrible omen of surprise decorations to come. What it would be he couldn't say, for her idea of adorable was entirely alien to his aesthetics.

Oh, but when a sweet high voice rung softly through the halls, the gentlest of questioning mrrps, he'd been completely distracted once more. What did it matter if he had to spend an entire day sweeping up glitter if his most honoured guest had grown so lonely that she'd set out to find him? He immediately pivoted to set out in the direction of that head-soothing call.

Despite the rain, Elizabeth begged her mother to allow her a final trip to Phantomhive Manor before the end of spring. She likely wouldn't see her beloved for quite some time, as the peak of her training season was coming soon, making this trip a much needed break.

Elizabeth dared not venture alone with only the carriage, so she always brought Paula along on her endeavors. The maid graciously followed behind her with a smile as radiant as the sun.

Once she was greeted, time flew by throughout the day. From arriving early in the morning to attending some brief studies, and then taking a lightly rained on stroll around the garden to act as one of Ciel's breaks, she truly felt at home when she was here.

Although Ciel waved her off with a smile of his own as he returned to his own affairs, Elizabeth noted the dirt that stained the hem of her dress from their long walk. The lady stood at the doorway, sighing heavily as she hoped the under layers would absorb the dirt and mud.

Oddly enough, neither Paula nor Sebastian were in sight, and unfortunately, even she knew the other maid wouldn't be of much help when it came to cleaning a casual dress. That was when she committed her first improper act of the day as a lady, removing her low heeled shoes at the door and making her way to where she assumed Paula would be: her room, near Sebastian's in the servants' quarters.

As she lifted her dress to prevent any mud from dripping onto the floor, she heard an odd sound: a gentle, soft meow coming from one of the neighboring rooms. Listening intently through the wood of the door, she turned the knob to open it, and a small kitten pranced up to her feet. The young girl fell to her knees in awe as she lifted the darling into her arms in a gentle embrace. "My, my, I didn't know Ciel had a pet! Aren't you the sweetest?" She lifted the kitten into the air as she stroked its back gingerly.
