I think part of the reason for S5’s fakeout ending is that if they answered all our questions ~for real~ in the initial release of S5, they wouldn’t have gotten ‘credit’ for how elaborate everything really is.

Like if Byler happened straight-up in S5 people would’ve said it was shoe-horned in to appease that section of the fanbase. If timelooping occurred straight up in S5 people would’ve said it was a gimmick specific to the 5th season and that it was ‘retconned’ into earlier seasons. The intentionality of all these choices would’ve been bypassed because the average viewer wants to believe they’re as clever as the writers. It cannot be overstated enough that people haaaaate admitting that writers did something crafty all on their own. That it wasn’t the actors. That it wasn’t dreamed up last minute. It doesn’t matter if the writers came right out and said otherwise- they would’ve been called liars.

But when you START from a point of ‘Stranger Things faked it’s death’ everything else seems really reasonable. Could they have planned all of this from the start? I mean- if you look at the insane amount of talent and audacity that it takes to pull off a fake-out final season, is it really a stretch to say they’ve always had a vision? By putting the lies FIRST it assures that the truth is taken more seriously.

‘Byler was never in the cards’ being said now sets it up that Byler was actually always the plan. They’ve proven that they’re able to disappoint us and shun us in the way so many antis wanted them to- so when Byler DOES happen it shows that it had nothing to do with the ‘noise’. It was ALWAYS the intention.

To anyone who supported/were fans before this all came to light. You are not at fault do not feel bad/guilty do not think that you were WILLINGLY supporting a bad person, you didn’t know, many of us didn’t know and if you donated or made art or fics or anything you are not to blame and you don’t deserve hate. It’s your choice with what you do with your art, if you choose to separate the creators from the characters we love or choose to stay away from anything involving them that’s your choice and you will and should be respected for that choice.

You are not to blame or feel guilt for their actions

I personally will be taking the character Avid (mostly v!Avid) and reclaim him because their creator is gone and he now belongs to the community but it’ll be a while before I do any art/thing involving them but he was still a character I adored and came to learn about, I will still and always will after all this not support their creator.
