Hey at least now this blog is canon compliant, huh
Hey this blog is pretty dead but if I’m being honest and real, if I ever see anybody reblogging bucky/shuri I will rip my eyes from their sockets
Jesse arcs the cards from his left hand to his right, arcing over his head playfully. Some people are staring but not interacting, so Jesse just decides to pick on someone-- a brunet who strays a bit too close to Jess. "Hey! You!" Jesse grins, flourishing his deck at him. "Pick a card, any card!"
He looks at Jess and then down to the cards. He stands there for a minute.
“What? Is this supposed to be some kind of magic trick?”
capandbuckyfandoms:
He bends his left arm at the elbow, twists the wrist, and wiggles his fingers as a test that it’s okay. As expected, it’s fine.
“It’s waterproof, most of the time. It’d take a whole lot more water than that to actually hurt and I don’t really swim so I never really have to worry about it.”
Jesse feels the little shiver that wracks his spine– swimming is terrifying, drowning is hell– but lights up.
“You’re probably going to hate this, but I recognize you and I really love your arm. Maybe I just love complex things but it’s fascinating. And uh–” Jesse laughs, scratching his neck to keep the pink on his cheeks at bay. “–I have a Bucky bear from when I was younger. So I guess its cool that I’m meeting you?”
“Oh, wait, seriously? You’re a fan?” He’s surprised. He actually laughs a little, “Uh, you’re sure we haven’t met before? I mean it’d make more sense to me now, now that you’re not a completely random weirdo.”
Jesse tilts his head to the side, rubs his chest rhythmically.
“I’ve never met you, I really haven’t. I mean on my end, I’m sure any familiarity is from all the stuff I’ve learned.” but even as he says it, it feels wrong in Jesse’s mouth. He powers on. “But hey, in any case, I’m always a weirdo.”
Jesse waves his hand around them, at the people trying to subtly stare at the soaking wet redhead in black like he was gonna do something weird.
“I’m used to it, really. But yeah, I am a fan. I was a geek when I was younger and I don’t think I’ve ever really grown out of it, and comic books were one hell of an influence when I was younger– I mean, I’m still a shitty person, but morale was always high.” and Jesse grins, playful and sharp.
He shrugs.
“I mean we’re not all fantastic people. Actually a lot of us comic book guys kind of suck. Not to name names or anything,” he coughs a bit but it sounds suspiciously like he’s saying ‘Iron Man’.
“In any case though, I’m pretty great, so good on you for getting to meet me.”
“Oh I am most definitely not the hero type at all really. But its nice to have met you.” and he laughs, the sky brightening as more clouds spread out and thin.
Jesse wrings his hair over his shoulder as he talks, still bright and giddy despite being soaked.
“I mean I’m gonna regret it because I am so gonna get sick and die after this but its fine, child me is overjoyed.”
"Are you seriously going to get sick and die or is it safe to assume you over exaggerate a lot?"
He asks. He's actually partially concerned but only because Jess is a fan.
NF: so that motorcycle stunt, was it real or did you stage it? Cause I saw the film and *you whistle lowly* damn (net to bucky)
BB: yeah man, you really think someone would do that? Just, film fake motorcycle stunts?
NF: keeping things short eh? What now, big guy?
BB: well, I don’t know. What do you want to do?
NF: I don’t know, again, I can’t decide but you said you were tired, yknow
BB: huh, how about just laying here?
NF: I could, yeah
NF: I’m just really high energy so
BB: so you’d probably rather be up and walking around or something?
NF: high energy
NF: I just want to move
BB: let's go for a walk then?

@ my rp partners, sorry for taking so long in between replies and junk. The depression is hitting me hard and I can only reblog stupid junk instead of writing bc it takes less effort. I'll try to be better about it.

“What? Is this supposed to be some kind of magic trick?”
capandbuckyfandoms:
He crosses his arms. He looks at Jess with a skeptical eyebrow raised.
“Alright magic man, make it rain.”
“No magic hammer required.”
Jesse winks, pocketing his cards and stretching. He peels off his gloves (refusing to acknowledge the pink lightning scars all over his fingertips– people don’t like to see them, generally, but it’s always so much harder to summon with barriers) and focuses. Little arcs of white electricity crackle across Jesse’s shoulders as thin white clouds begin swirling across the sky, darkening like a witches cauldron.
Soon grey turns into heavy black, no wind to push the oppressive clouds away when suddenly– a crack of lightening, throwing the sky into a tizzy as the clouds crack open and pour down.
Jesse simply laughs, running his ruddish hands through his now-wet hair.
“This is gonna frizz something awful.”
The rain pours for a few minutes while Buck just kind of stares at the sky for a few minutes. He’s soaked now, and he sighs.
“Alright, so, you can do magic. But, that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t really care.”
“Oh I didn’t want you to care. Caring is a big effort!” Jesse laughs and rubs his chest, feels the swell of his rings like a brilliant light. “I just wanted to prove to you that I could do it. People underestimate, you know, and it’s quite the downer when they get screwed. A lesson.” Jesse laughs again, running his hands through his hair again; it was longer than you’d really let it grow, curling around your shoulders and you just dutifully pull it through a scrunchy. With a flick of your wrist, you dry the stranger and thin out the rain– in that order, because you’re an asshole. “Hope I didn’t mess up your arm.”
He bends his left arm at the elbow, twists the wrist, and wiggles his fingers as a test that it's okay. As expected, it's fine.
"It's waterproof, most of the time. It'd take a whole lot more water than that to actually hurt and I don't really swim so I never really have to worry about it."

NF: your call, I know I got a lot of shit ready for us, though
BB: alright, your place it is
NF: Awesome, let’s go
*You offer your arm for him to take because you’re nothing if not chivalrous*
He looks at Net’s arm for a minute and then shrugs and takes it.
[a while later, they’re both in net’s bed and net is seriously self satisfied]
NF: holy shit, dude
BB: yeah, I know
NF: Let’s make that a regular thing, maybe?
BB: yeah, alright
*you smile at him*
NF: Now, I have no idea if I want to go do something or go again or,,,, so I’m gonna ask you; do you wanna fuck again or go do something together or?
BB: eh, I’m kind of tired
NF: Later, maybe?
BB: yeah, sure

capandbuckyfandoms:
“Sure, why not,” he hands the card back to Jesse, “I don’t see how you could convince me, but I’ll let you try. It’d be fun to watch you screw up.”
“Oh honey!” and Jesse barks out a laugh, loud and raucous, that fills the air. “You’ve never met a guy like me then; I never mess up.”
Jesse hums pleasantly as he collects his cards from the floor, nice and neat. He begins to shuffle rhythmically.
“What would I have to do to convince you, then? Floating is usually something people ask for.”
“I’ve seen people float, it’s not that impressive.”
He thinks about it for a minute.
“Yeah, no, I don’t think anything you could do could convince me.”
Jesse shrugs, tosses his cards back and forth in arcs. Jesse holds out the five of diamonds, lets himself relax and lets arcs of blue electricity from his fingers trace across the card as his thinks. “First, you gotta want to believe. I’ve met people who don’t believe in gravity but that doesn’t make it untrue. But I’ll do you one better– I’ll make it rain. The sky is clear, not a cloud in sight, but I can make it thunder.”
He crosses his arms. He looks at Jess with a skeptical eyebrow raised.
"Alright magic man, make it rain."
