laying on the floor tired of life
The current time as rendered by 9 different AI models. By Brian Moore.
Courtesy of an awesome friend of mine, here's some nice reassurance that no, AI isn't going to actually replace basically anyone or take over the world anytime soon.
Specifically, it's a web page that currently displays nine different world clocks live, according to nine leading AI models.
And they're horribly, horribly wrong.
AI programs currently featured at the link:
GPT-3.5
GPT-4o
GPT-5
Haiku 3.5
Gemini 2.5
Deepseek v3.1
Grok 4
Qwen 2.5
Kimi K2
Only two out of these nine clocks are correct as I'm writing this (interestingly, it's DeepSeek and Kimi - both Chinese models - that are the only ones that are roughly correct), though you can't read for precision time.
Also, six out of the nine are literally not readable clocks (the excepts are those two, plus GPT-5). And in several cases, not clocks at all.
Personally I'm also bookmarking this and keeping it on hand for when I need to show people not to trust AI, because it's hard to reliably use an exploit, especially now that they keep patching the models.
And you know if you say "look how terrible and wrong this always is" and then it's right, you've kinda lost your audience there permanently rip.
Anyway, yeah. Can you believe they want us to let this shit run everything? It can't even tell you the time!!
It always surprises me whenever someone says that the New Testament never states that Jesus is God, when the Apostle Thomas literally calls Jesus "My Lord and my God," and Jesus doesn't deny the truth of Thomas' statement.
Also, note Jesus' claim of "I and My Father are One" which shows up multiple times in a few variations in the gospel of John. If that isn't Christ claiming co-equality with the Father, I don't know what is.
If one believes that Christ and the Father are not one and the same, Jesus' claim is absolute arrogance, and therefore a sin and He would not be able to pay our debt.
But since Jesus and the Father are one, and Christ died and was raised on the third day (the apostles literally died or, in John's case, were exiled for preaching this, why would they die for a lie?), and Jesus is the Way to the Father, we know by the gift of the Holy Spirit that He spoke the truth. He was the worthy sacrifice, He is begotten of the Father before all Creation; Creator, not creature, the Logos, the Word and absolute Truth on which all Creation is founded, the Beginning and the End.
There's also Jesus' repeated references to Himself as the "Son of Man", most notably at His trial (and this is in the synoptics, mind you) when the high priest told him directly "I charge you under oath by the living God, tell us if you are the Messiah" and Jesus responded "You said it yourself; but I tell you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven." Then the chief priest tore his clothes and said "Blasphemy! Why do we need witnesses? You've all heard him blaspheme yourselves!"
So why was this blasphemy? Why did the chief priest consider this such a damning statement? How is Jesus calling Himself "the Son of Man" declaring Himself God?
It's because it's a reference to Daniel 7, where Daniel had a vision where "in the clouds of heaven, one like a Son of Man was approaching. He went up to the Ancient of Days and was escorted before Him. To him was given all ruling authority, honor, and sovereignty. All peoples, nations, and languages were serving him. His authority is eternal and will not pass away; his kingdom will never be destroyed."
That's who Jesus is claiming to be. That's who He is.

Notpla is aiming to expand in Europe and displace 1 billion units of single-use plastic by 2030.
Notpla, the company which makes seaweed-based packaging to replace single-use plastics, started with its two French and Spanish founders, Pierre Paslier and Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, experimenting in their student kitchen while at Imperial College London.
Now, Notpla has replaced more than 21 million items of single-use plastic across Europe, and is aiming to displace 1 billion units by 2030. In partnership with Just Eat, Notplaâs packaging was used at the UEFA Womenâs Final at Wembley Stadium, London in 2022. From seven types of folded carton board boxes that year, it has grown into a catalogue of over 50 different designs.Â
And the company is launching a new deli range, featuring plastic-free windows so people can see their sandwiches before buying. Honsinger hopes this will help Notpla branch out into office catering and museums, where that sneak peek is important.Â
A lot of these "plastic alternative made from plants" products actually use at least a small amount of plastic mixed with the plant fibers. However, that does not appear to be the case here--they are truly making plastic-free packaging and cardboard coating even if that means their products do not have all of the same desirable characteristics as plastics.
A quote from the article:
âWe're not going for the easiest win,â she says. âWe're not going to mix our product with a bit of plastic to make a semi-natural product because that's a bit easier. We're going to go for it even if it's the hardest thing, to make sure it's truly natural.âÂ
I guess we're doing necromancy on this damn post so since I've been unceremoniously summoned from the grave, let me share a fun fact about lions: the idea that male lions are lazy and incapable of hunting is a myth! a myth so widespread that I got sick of people repeating it in the notes of this post and turned off reblogs!
but now it's back, so to set the record straight, lions and lionesses have different but equally important roles within a pride, which was kind of the whole point of the OP. while lionesses are the primary hunters in a pride, males have the important job of defending the territory and any cubs from rival lions and other threats. but both males and females are capable of performing either of those roles when circumstances require it (male lions can and do hunt for themselves, even once they have a pride of their own, and female lions have been known to take on a "male" role in some prides). a lion that can't feed itself is not a lion that lives long enough to ever have a pride.
the moral of this post was never "haha men are useless and stupid" it's "humans, like lions and wolves, are social animals that thrive best with the support of a community/family, and it's ironic that the types of people with the most individualistic/isolated approaches to life have chosen other highly social animals to represent how they see themselves."
thanks for coming to my TED talk, captive audience.

I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence
Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.
Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.
u r absolutely right I have SO many complaints about Windows omg.
For anyone who'd like to follow along, I'm gonna share how to get around those things with group policies bc they're more user friendly and descriptive than registry editor imo :3 I'll also show how to get around needing a Microsoft account to get setup.
For the Device Setup
"OOBE" stands for Out Of Box Experience which is what that setup workflow is. But it also happens to be a folder with a little program in it that'll let you skip connecting to the internet; this makes it so you don't have to sign up with a Microsoft account and can just use a normal local one instead. And it already comes preinstalled! Here's how you get to it:
Hold Shift + F10, or Shift + Fn + F10 depending on your keyboard.
Click inside the window that pops up, type the following and press enter afterwards to run it: OOBE\BypassNRO
I believe it should restart your computer automatically, but if not then restart your computer or type: shutdown /r /t 0 /f
Now when you're brought back to the setup workflow, the page where you connect to the internet will have a new button on it that lets you say you don't have internet. Clicking that and proceeding through the rest of the setup lets you get around the Microsoft account thing.
Group Policies
You don't have to know much about them, these are just a bunch of specific settings for what your computer can or can't do that lets you decide how it works in different ways.
I'm gonna show you how to turn off the recommendations and internet stuff basically. For now bring up search and type gpedit, pick this
It'll open up to Local Group Policy Editor and we can get started :3c
Start Recommendations
In the side menu, go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar. Click on Settings to sort them with all the "Turn off" ones bumped to the top.
Here's what you should set:
Turn off user tracking: enabled
Turn off feature advertisement balloon notifications: enabled
Remove Recommended section from Start Menu: enabled
Remove Personalized Website Recommendations from the Recommended section in the Start Menu: enabled
Do not search Internet: enabled
Windows Spotlight
Back in the side menu, go down to Windows Components > Cloud Content
Turn off all Windows spotlight features: enabled
Do not use diagnostic data for tailored experiences: enabled
Cortana
In the side menu, this one's back at the top under Computer Configuration. You're gonna want to go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search
Allow Cortana: disabled
Don't search the web or display web results in Search: enabled
News and Interests
In the side menu go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > News and interests.
Enable news and interests on the taskbar: disabled
Microsoft Account Login Nudges
When you don't use a Microsoft account they'll nudge you repeatedly to sign in so you can "get the most out of your experience" *gag*. The group policy for turning that off has a note that suggests it might not work with Windows 11 though (implicitly), so you can close the group policy editor window now and for this last one let's just open up the regular settings.
Go to System > Notifications > Additional settings, then uncheck all the boxes. And there ya go! (âżâ âżâ )ïŸ u are done.
Group policies are kind of a rabbit hole so while there is a lot more you could change or read into, for your own sanity's sake I would advise against it and say call it a day lol
This is all extremely good information, thank you very much for the addition!
I endorse this as an IT technician. I do this to every new Win11 device I set up.
As a bonus, run Chris Titus Tech's debloat tool on it.
Having Fun with Technology
It allows you to add tools, remove/disable shitty parts of windows, and easily change some settings. My default is running the preset for a desktop/laptop and applying security update settings, but there are so many options to customize. I used it on my personal laptop.

Hey everyone how's it going
What is your newest fandom?
And I don't mean âI only just got into this 30 year old thing!â or "Well, the spin-of of this 20+ year old franchise is really good." No, I mean what is the most recently made thing you've gotten into.
the social norm of âits your ethical responsibility to be constantly aware of, and angry about, every bad thing happening in the world at all times, even if you canât possibly do anything about itâ is possibly the best way I can imagine to create burnout and cynicism and depression in a population, so good job guys
