Volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association!
The Alzheimer’s Association seeks photographer(s) to document a free educational event targeted to low-income residents of Baltimore and surrounding areas. The photographer(s) will document the event that attracts more than 350 people by taking photos of speakers, audience participants, VIPs and more for the Association to use in materials to increase awareness of the event and the services provided by the Alzheimer’s Association. Breakfast and lunch will be provided (great bonus- this hardly ever happens!)

Mural Painters Needed Again This Weekend!
Cassandra Kapsos-Scouten would like your help to continue working on her mural project at 1017 w. Lombard St. and also to help construct a second community bulletin board. Help needed this Saturday, August 10th. Painting will take place from 10am until 12:30pm. If you are interested please email [email protected] or call 443-240-9811.

Easter Seals Adult Day Center Seeks Volunteers
Easter Seals would love to work with MICA students to lead group art projects with seniors (average age 85) that will be tactile and easy to do. The group will be once a week during the day, Monday through Friday. The medium can be paint or crafts.

National Aquarium Seeks Volunteers
When: June 8-9, 2013
The Wave Project (www.make-a-wave.org) is an interactive public art project that calls attention to the beauty of the ocean and inspires ocean conservation. Volunteers and members of the community will come together to contribute their own artistic wave interpretation and connect it to a wire flowing through the site.
Volunteers will help participants in creating their own “wave” shape out of polycarbonate film and connecting it to a wire flowing through the installation site.

Call for Art: Gathering Grounds Art Contest
Now through May 3, any artist can submit a photo of original artwork along with a brief description of what “community” means to them at Facebook.com/TullysCoffee. Two winners will be selected to travel to beautiful Vermont this summer and bring their artistic vision to life through a permanent art installation. Each winner will also receive a $1,000 cash prize and 2,000 in building materials. This contest is sponsored by Tully’s Coffee, who, along with nonprofit partner Pomegranate Center, has been working to revitalize community spaces nationwide to encourage people to gather together, make personal connections, and improve the quality of life in the places they call home.
Art Where We Are Seeks Monthly Volunteers
Art Where We Are goes into a local Baltimore homeless shelter to provide the children living there with the opportunity for creative expression. They provide a suggested art project for the evening, however, we are there to support the children creatively and guide them through any creative endeavor they choose to follow. MICA students must be able to work well with children and their families and be sensitive to the unique needs of children and families dealing with homelessness.

Calling All Community Artists! Host an art table or art making activity at the sixth annual Boundary Block Party! The Boundary Block Party is an annual event to connect and celebrate Central West Baltimore and brings hundreds of residents together across race and class lines. We are looking for artists and groups to host art making activities at this year's block party. Past art activities have included flower pots, ceramic tiles, face painting, side-walk chalk and more. This year's Boundary Block Party is on Sat May 11 from 1 to 4pm at Pennsylvania Ave and Presstman Streets. Extra CAP Hours- Youth Art Club
Banner Neighborhoods Youth Art Club is seeking volunteers to assist with the Art Club one or two days a week. The Art Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:30 pm in their facility and presently engages an average of 12-15 youth between the ages of 8-12 years old.
Volunteers do not need to commit to both Tuesday and Thursday each week; they can commit to both or just one day a week. The Spring session has already started and will conclude at the end of the school semester in mid-June.

Extra CAP Hours- Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is looking to recruit volunteer photographers to capture events and volunteer experiences in and around Baltimore. As of right now we need volunteer photographers for the following days:*
April 17, 18, 24
May 2, 4, 16, 17, 22
June 4, 5, 6
