GRAHH my little pony Rick and Morty designs! I’m really proud of these. Anyway, here’s my dissertation about Beth:

Basically there’s this thing called the Rod of Asclepius, with Asclepius being the Greek god of healing and medicine. So the rod of Asclepius is basically heavily used with healing and medicine, and it has one snakes wrapped around a rod.

HOWEVER there’s also the Caduceus which is usually depicted the same as the rod of Asclepius, except has two snakes and it sometimes may have wings added. There’s the story of Tiresias which basically has the Caduceus have transformative powers (mostly negatively used though). There’s also another myth with Hermes separating two fighting snakes using the rod so it represents peace in there.

I think that Beth’s cutie mark on a surface level represents all of these; transformation, healing, medicine and peace. BUT it ultimately represents that Beth was basically cursed to have conflicts happen around her to be solved by peace, and injuries that cause the need for healing and medicine.

I think she got it straight after Diane died and Rick was about to leave, where she tried to comfort Rick.

learning the creator of the first 1/2 of the “how dare you say we piss on the poor” post was a trans man who died by suicide 10 years ago really made me feel an existential type of sadness I can’t describe. even when we are not looking for them we often find signs from the brothers we lost along the way. rest in peace man you made a damn good post
