Titanic (film) trivia: During the scene when Jack is sorrowfully looking at Rose being lowered in the lifeboat, the moment a distress rocket appears right behind Leonardo DiCaprio was a lucky accident. Director James Cameron tried launching the flares hoping they would appear in frame but there was no assured way of knowing where they would specifically explode into the sky, which made it improbable to be precisely in frame with the actor. Cameron was very happy when he discovered, during dailies, the lucky shot made it on film.
