I love this shot so much; it’s like you can see the turmoil and confusion in Wille’s face as Simon leans into kiss him, meanwhile Simon looks so certain. His gaze is so soft; Wille didn’t exactly respond to the first kiss, but he didn’t push him away either, giving Simon hope and the courage to go in again.

Wille opens his lips, clearly accepting the kiss, but his expression is still layered with desire and uncertainty and you actually see him wince at the end, perhaps due to being jolted by the jump scare in the movie, or perhaps because he knows he’s not supposed to want this but he wants it so much.

i don’t think i’ll ever get over how tightly and desperately he hugs simon in this moment. i’m so glad you’re here. it’s so earnest. it makes me wonder how often wille needed someone to hug him like this, someone to show up for him in a time of need and they never did. he’s so used to being left to fend for himself that simon turning up is a genuine surprise.

not to constantly talk about how touch starved wille is but his little smile here kills me every time!! you practically feel the warmth radiate off of him – in that moment there’s butterflies in his stomach and he’s happy. like, how badly does this kid crave physical affection that a tiny, tiny moment like this brings him this much joy.
