August peeks down the hallway. A half-empty vending machine buzzes delicately between a set of dusty light fixtures. There was a party at Triple's tonight, leaving the west wing of the hotel completely abandoned. Violet flaked the moment she realized no one brought weed and August flaked the moment they realized she wasn't staying.
The band complains that they're always together, but they're never get to be alone together. Well. They usually never get to be alone together. A few stops ago Violet managed to sneak August into a storage closet. Their pulse jumps just thinking about it.
Violet steps into the hallway. "All clear?"
"Looks like it."
She grins, spinning around to walk back into the common room.
It's an odd space. There's no doorâonly an archway that leads to a window, two couches, and an unplugged flat screen. Violet draws the blinds before dropping onto the couch furthest from the hallway. Her oversized Misfit Alley tee pools around her collarbones, revealing the strap of her bra.
In that moment August decides they'll take the initiative. They saunter up to Violet with their hands in their pockets, thankful for the few inches they have on her. "I finally have you to myself."
She tilts her head, watching August through her lashes. The urge to fidget is strong. If thereâs anything theyâve learned these past few weeks, itâs that Violet Rhodes likes taking them apart with the least amount of effort possible.
In other words, sheâs a professional eye fucker.
There's skill in the way her attention drags itself across August's body. She gnaws at her lip piercing, eyeing their arms, then neck, and finally their lips. Somehow they know exactly and absolutely nothing of what she's thinking. The only thing they know for sure is they want to take their clothes off. (And maybe get on their knees.)
"What is it you plan on doing with me?" Violet teasesâlike the idea is a cute hypothetical. August knows immediately it's a challenge.
In past relationships, they've never been particularly reserved. They've never given it much thought either, but with Violet dominance is a physical line she toes at all times. She could say the simplest thing and August's first instinct is to nod and obey. How much of that is a consequence of their childhood verses a product of their arousal, they're not sure.
"I can show you." Their voice is more strained than they'd like.
Violet gives an exaggerated look of shock. It's a little humiliating and it goes straight to their crotch. "Really?"
"Mhm."
Violet crosses her legs on the couch. "I'm ready when you are."
They haven't thought this through, have they?
How far is she willing to go? Anyone could walk in and see them. Violet knows that. Does she really not care, or is this just another way sheâs testing them?
Then again, if they did get caught, it wouldn't be that bad. In a general sense. There's no cameras on tonight so the risk of a scandal happening is low. It would just be a person, a stray from Triple's party probably, catching August with their hand down Violet's pants.
August would explode.
They can't say the thought isn't a littleâŠhot. The two of them sweaty and flushed, stuck at their most vulnerable. Violet seems like the type to be into that. She'd probably grin and shamelessly tell August to keep going.
"Don't know where to start, Auggy?"
Shit. Violet's given them the okay to have their way with her and August is fantasizing about getting caught. This is the horniest they've ever been. August grabs the back of the couch with one hand and seizes Violet's jaw with the other.
They pull her closer, forcing her to yield to their mouth. The kiss is sloppy, uncoordinated in it's need as they both reach for the other. Even when August is taking the lead they can't hide how much they need her.
Violet is the one who yanks August onto her lap. Their thighs bracket her hips, the new position providing just enough pressure on August's crotch to make them ache. They groan and slide their hands up her band tee to palm at her breasts.
"I'll never get sick of your mouth," Violet says as she breaks apart to breath. "You're such a good kisser it's unfair."
They're gonna hold onto that forever.
Every moan August pulls from Violet is like a gift to their ears. They move to her neck, if only to stop muffling her sounds, when she goes, "Oh, fuck."
Her noises turn whiny and loud and so unlike any part of her August has come to know. They drag the flat of their tongue across her throat and her hands shoot to their hair. "Your fucking mouth, August."
They smirk, alternating kisses and hickeys into her skin. "You're so sensitive."
"Shut up." Violet curls a hand around the front of August's belt. "Take these off."
"Here??"
"I wanna see where you're sensitive."
That has their ears ringing. "You're kind of a perv."
"Please, Auggy." Her hand pulls at their hair a little, the sting making their whole body go hot. "Won't you be good for me?"
August is already undoing their jeans. Violet lets go of their hair to help.
"Violet. August. Where areee you guysss?" The drunken, sing-songy voice of Rowan calls from down the hallway.
Violet palms August once, the most evilest of smiles on her face. August has to bite their hand to stay silent and as the footsteps get closer August realizes they're about to come practically untouched.
The worst part? If she kept going, they would've let her.
Instead, Violet only kisses August one last time, before shrugging their jeans back up and throwing them off of her. Rowan barges in not a second later.
"There you guys are!" Rowan beams happily, stumbling over the couch to flop over the both of them. His head is in Violet's lap and not August's thankfully. They have no clue how'd they'd explain this. "You guys missed so much!"
Violet chuckles. "Did we?"
Rowan nods, solemnly. "Yessss. Triple did body shots off of me."
August can't bring themselves to speak, too busy thinking about how to fix their belt without Rowan noticing.
"Lucky you." Violet bites her lip like she holding in a laugh. "At least someone's getting some action around here."
Rowan pats Violet's cheek. "Don't worry, my sweet. Your time is soon."
Violet looks at August from over Rowan's head. She winks. "I can't wait."

"What's your drink?" Victoria asks me. I smile a little.
"Whatever is handed to me," I shrug. "I'd rather be high than drunk, but I do like fruit ciders and cocktails. Anything where I can't feel the burn," I laugh.
"Aw," Griffin mocks lightly, playfully, "got a sensitive throat, Rookie?"
Vic giggles, "that sounds dirty."
"As a matter of fact," I grin slyly, "I do. It's my greatest asset, actually."
"Is it?" Victoria eyes me over with a heated look, "surely you have⊠other assets." The way her eyes linger on my chest makes my heart burn. Am I really flirting with Valenreign? With both of them?
"I can't believe it," Griffin looks at Victoria, almost scandalized, "are you actually flirting with someone that isn't me? You gotta be wasted."
Victoria waves a hand, "oh, please. You always flirt with everyone we meet."
"Yeah, but that's me," Griffin leans in, but there's a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "Not you."
"I wasn't aware you believed in slut-shaming, G," I joke, to which he whips his gaze to me, eyes wide in panic. Vic snickers as he shifts in his seat, a hand raised towards me.
"Wait. That's not what I was sayingâI'm a feminist."
I blink. Silence follows. Thenâ
Vic guffaws a loud laugh as I break into choked snickering, turning her entire face away to at least try and spare Griffin's dignity. Everything about this feels like a grander win than the prospect of winning the week. I feel high, weightless and free--and untouchable.

Gina isn't quite sure when Victoria started feeling like a spy more than a spouse, but somewhere along the way, they became hurdles for each other rather than support beams. She thinks it happened around the time Viktor stopped giving a shit about her, but she also thinks she's just trying to make herself feel better.
"Gina."
Gina goes slightly tense when Victoria speaks up next to her. Looking to her wife, she finds Vic pursing her lips at the green liquid inside her cup.
"Is it just me, or does this not at all taste like a martini?"
Gina frowns. "Is⊠it green?"
"I think so," Victoria nods. She holds it up to the light. "It sure looks it."
"âŠmartinis aren't green."
She gives Gina a flat look, long enough to make sure Gina registers it. Despite everything, the corner of Vic's lip twitches. Is it sad that the one time Gina enjoys her wife's company is when they're talking about alcohol? Best not to think about that too hard.
"Whatever it is, it sucks," Vic shrugs, then sighs deeply, "I was really hoping it would at least taste good."
"The fact they had the gall to mess up your order is insane," Gina huffs, taking the cup off Vic and taking a swig, then gagging. "Jesus fuck that's bad."
Vic snorts. "Told you."
"No," Gina rolls her eyes, "you asked me if it tasted off."
"Technically," Victoria smirks, mischief lighting up her pretty eyes, "I asked you to confirm if it tasted like a martini or not."
Gina rolls her eyes. "You're a little shit, you know that?"
Victoria shrugs, fluttering her lashes coyly. "Maybe. You deserve the humbling."
For the first time in a while, Gina wants to ruffle Victoria's hair, just to piss her off in a harmless and painless way. This isn't like the ribbing at that party in week 1, or the passive aggressiveness at Alana's with Shanaâit's something older. Something that reminds Gina of why she liked Victoria so much to begin with. She's funny, and isn't impressed by the pomp and the pedestals. She makes Gina feel⊠normal. And Gina had forgotten how nice it felt.
For all of Vic's rules about how they can or can't do things⊠she makes the limitations fun. Or well, she used to. Gina wonders when they stopped having fun together.

Sascha snickers. âNo, you donât.â
âWhat? Why not?â He angles his grin down at him.
Sascha holds the wrist of the arm wrapped around his shoulders and puts a little extra swing in his step, knocking their hips together. âFirst of all,â he says, âI was hopelessly in love with you.â
âI like that start,â Griffin says. Mischievously, he adds, âHowâs that different from now?â
He shoots him an acerbic look. âBecause,â he says, âit wasnât you I was in love with. It was the idea of you. Theyâre two different things and finding that out at that age would haveâ âhe makes a sweeping gesture, like knocking a chess board to the floorâ âtotally ruined it.â
âAww.â Griffin nuzzles his face into the stupid hat Sascha somehow forgot he was wearing. âYou donât think we wouldâve fallen in love anyway?â
âI wasâŠâ Sascha wrinkles his nose, thinking of his younger self. âPrototypical. Figuring a lot of stuff out the hard way.â Embarrassing. âI donât think so.â
âWell I disagree,â he declares. âI think I wouldâve been obsessed with you no matter what.â
âHoney, I had glasses thick as your finger.â
âHot.â
âAnd braces.â
âWhoa, mama.â Griffin pretends to fan himself with his scarf.
Sascha bursts out laughing and shoves him in the side. âYou are so fucking stupid.â
Griffin gives a rare giggle, catching his hands, and Sascha wants to bottle the sound. âHere I am, trying to compliment youââ
âYouâre lying, youâre a liarââ
âA liar! For saying Iâd think youâre fucking hot no matter what?â
âThatâsâ âabsolutely not trueâ âsweet.â
Griffin narrows his eyes, his smile sharpening. âYou donât believe me.â He reels Sascha back in, wrapping an arm around his waist.
âObviously I donât believe you,â Sascha says, smiling. He lifts his chin, expectant, and Griffinâs eyes flicker to his mouth.
âHmm. Weâll table this discussion for later.â
âNo need,â Sascha says, curling his fingers into Griffinâs scarf to draw him down by it. âIâm right.â Griffin shakes his head and kisses him.

The door is a snitch, giving a nearly comical squeal of its hinges as Griffin pushes it open wider. Saschaâs head whips around, an expression like a knife on his face: eyes narrow, mouth already turning down in a sneer. Griffin pulls up short. Heâs never seen anything like it on Saschaâs face beforeâcertainly not pointed at him.
Itâs only there for a moment. In the next Sascha recognizes him and visibly relaxesâwhich Griffin also wonât think aboutâhis scowl course-correcting into that sideways smirk. âAre you stalking me?â he calls, and lifts his cigarette back to his lips.
Griffin doesnât even like cigarettes, but he likes the one pursed between Saschaâs lips very much. The cherry glow of its ember lights his face as he breathes in, and he tilts his head back to breathe a column of smoke straight up. His throat. The jut of his collarbone from beneath his shirt. Griffin has never felt more indebted to a cigarette in his life.
âOh, shit,â Griffin says once he manages to relocate his voiceâclattering around somewhere near his feet, probably. âGame over. You figured it out.â He slinks out onto the roof, letting the door shut behind him. It feels dangerous, daringâGriffin definitely shouldnât be alone with a contestant, and if anyone finds them theyâre in for a world of trouble. Thatâs why his heart is beating faster. The only reason. âGuess I should confess this whole thing has just been an elaborate ruse to get close to you.â Why is he still talking? Shut up! âSorry you had to find out this way.â
âEh,â Sascha says, ashing his cigarette. âIâm not surprised.â
That startles a laugh out of him. âNo?â he says, drawing closer. He does it without thinking.
Sascha looks at him from beneath his eyelashes, and Griffin feels the lurching premonition of having walked himself into a trap. âNo offense,â he says softly, âbut you were kind of obvious.â
He canât form a response to that. What can he even say? Nuh-uh! Iâm super subtle about my stupid fixation on you! Luckily Sascha takes pity on him, turning away. The corner of his mouth ticks upward while he takes another drag. âUnfortunately,â he says, sighing dramatically and placing a hand to his chest, âI am married to my work. And you are, of course, actually married. It would never work between us.â
âKnew I was forgetting something,â Griffin says, and immediately wishes he hadnât. He shouldnât joke about that. He shouldnât even be thinking about it, because if he thinks about it heâll have to admit to himself itâs true. When heâs around Sascha, the last thing on Griffinâs mind is his wife.
Heâs such an asshole.
Sascha, thank god, doesnât comment on that. He only looks at him sidelong, a knowing little smile on his face, and Griffin actually wishes heâd say something now because the silence is worse.
