Chicago complaints

I enjoy all three of the Chicago franchises, but there are just a few things that are quickly driving me crazy.  First, the three epi-arc: intro, cover it in 4-6 minutes in the 2nd episode, and climax-resolution in the third. I’ve seen this more time than I can count here. The Dawsey pregnancy, Peter Mills leaving, Severide’s “marriage.” The list goes on and on. The resolutions are preticable, because only so much time is allotted to the story and the results are less than spectacular.  The latest was the Casey at the scene of a murder. Goodness knows that Dick Wolf can do a murder investigation and trial. Casey could have been arrested, and there could have been some real doubts about his innocence, given previous outbursts, etc. However, it was done in, you guessed it, 3 weeks. Murderer caught and bad guys behind bars.  The other thing that is stretching my powers of belief is the whole sleeping with a person in a supervisory position thing currently going on at Fire and Med. Gabby should not be working for Matt, since they live together and sleep together. It breaks so many HR rules that I couldn’t even begin to count. They need to move her to another department, squad or back to life as an EMT. Recent interviews though make it seem like they’ll be like this indefinitely with no forward/backward movement in their relationship.  Same goes with Rhodes and Zanetti. She’s in a position of authority as a trauma surgeon over a fellow. Under no circumstances would she be allowed to make decisions about his career if they are sleeping together. It makes me doubt their intelligence for doing this. I realize that having two cast members involved is cheaper for the show, but putting one in a supervisory position over the other is just wrong. I’d thought he’d learned his lesson with Jack McCoy and the rotating ADAs on L&O, but I guess not.
