current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.

someone brought a cake analysis robot to feed the cake into to determine the exact ingredients and supposedly it can spit out the exact same cake. and if you're like dude. what. then they're like well if it bothers you you should have made more cake. i'm hungry and i deserve cake. and you're like dude we're at a party.

Currently obsessed with Star Trek TOS and I know most of my mutuals probably haven’t seen any of it but I need to emphasize exactly how wooby Captain Kirk is. The poor guy is tortured every other episode and his brain is scraped out with a spoon every third episode. I understand now. This is the hit Kirk with a mallet show. And through it all, he’s still a character with a lot of dignity, he’s always a captain first. But just- my poor guy. I’m going to have to make a Character Of All Time post about him. He’s just so haunted.

It’s so crazy that Saavik is perfectly engineered to be spirkdaughter. She got her curly hair & unfathomably traumatic childhood from Jim… She got her deadpan cattiness & endless battle with her hybrid identity from Spock… Every other scene in The Wrath of Khan is just Jim & Spock exchanging fond glances while gently homeschooling her through tactical maneuvers… they call her ‘Mister Saavik’ like they’ve been doing it since she was born…I’m going crazy here

Ohhhh boy finally I’m finished with this bad boy. This is for @plaidshirtjimkirk ‘s @oldmarriedspirk Challenge! This of course takes place before Spock returns to the Enterprise in TMP, and if it’s not entirely clear it’s a slight twist where Spock does in fact seek Bones’ advice for how to approach the Unfuckening he caused between TOS & TMP. 

The format and coloring was largely inspired by Tongari’s  25 Lives, which is one of my absolute favorite comics and pieces of writing, like, ever. :) I think it’s so beautiful and it inspires me so much every time I come across it/an incarnation of it. Please check it out!

I really enjoyed working on this, but more than anything now I’m pleased to get it out into the world so I can stop worrying about it LOL. I hope you enjoy reading it!
