The small voice in your head that says: "I don't need to write down every small detail of this plot idea, I love it so much, I'll remember this."
That's the devil speaking.
I genuinely need Olivia Benson to eliminate the entire male species, I’m not joking.

NEW EARTH PHOTO JUST DROPPED FROM ARTEMIS II
thats my home
you can see the atmosphere. that halo around the edge, that's my air. the green on the upper right is my aurora. those are my clouds, my sunlight.
and its yours! this is your home. this is the home of everyone you ever heard of and everyone you will ever meet. every animal you've been curious about. every plant you've ever picked, and sniffed. its mine and its yours and its theirs. everything is here. its all that i have. its all that you have too.
To those who have looked to the stars and wondered.
That's us, together.
While we're looking up at the Artemis II astronauts journeying to the Moon, they're looking back home at us.
In this image, Earth peeks through the capsule window, reminding us that a view like this relies on the ingenuity and hard work of countless people back home.
In the second image, we see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere.
Follow the Artemis II astronauts on their journey to the Moon:
Activists. Icons. Heroines. This photo of Jane Fonda and Joan Baez is everything to me. 😭🤍

Is it me or has fandom become more toxic since it's moved away from Tumblr and over to social media? I know Tumblr has had it's moments, but it feels so much more personal over on X and TikTok. A friend of mine writes for a very niche fandom and was completely attacked on X because someone found a three year old piece of fiction that included a trope they didn't like. Thankfully, she's been around in fandom for as long as I have so she didn't blink an eye, but it made me sad for new writers. Please remember that for some people, fandom is all they have. There's no need to go out of your way to make someone feel bad for shipping a certain pairing, writing a trope you dislike, or enjoying something differently from you. Their preference doesn't impact your life at all. Not every opinion needs to be expressed.
It's perfectly okay to have your preferences. It's okay to debate with willing participants, sure. That is part of the fun of fandom. But when did it become okay to shame someone's work after they've taken all the appropriate steps (tagging correctly, including a summary, etc.) to shield you from content you don't want to read?
I can't imagine pouring months or even years of yourself into creating a piece of work only to wake up and see a stranger on X making snarky comments and inviting other people to hate on it, just because it's a ship or trope they dislike. There's a difference between holding people accountable and calling them out when necessary, and being a toxic mean girl.
There are plenty of fics I don't fuck with. You know what I do? Scroll. It's literally that simple. Have we forgotten why Ao3 exists in the first place?
