The happiest day of my life
College Bio is hurting my feelings
study like a gryffindor: break out the good snacks and pump the music, use breaks as a time to work out, go to the professorâs office hours when you have questions, be confident in your ability to succeed
study like a hufflepuff: organize study groups, do your readings in your comfiest sweaters, write your own notes and study guides from the textbook, be unafraid of the hard work that studying takes
study like a ravenclaw: think critically when re-reading notes, quiz yourself while brushing your teeth, tackle the hardest practice problems, know that you have the skills to get it done
study like a slytherin: use every resource available to study, use your notes to make your own lecture, challenge yourself by setting goals even if youâre not sure you can achieve them, be proud when you do well

Hey, everyone! My fourth year of university has just started and I just wanted to share some study tips that have really helped me improve my grades. I study engineering but Iâm sure these tips can be useful for any kind of major and high school studies as well.
USE A TIME-KEEPING METHOD. You donât have to do this forever. It really worked for me when I hit a massive procrastination wall. It helps you develop a study rhythm to get you up and running. I donât use it as much anymore because it already helped me have a natural balance between work and rest. The Tide app was the best one I found which follows the Pomodoro method. Itâs also great because it has white noise playing in the background like rain or the beach and even a library!
SAVE ONE AFTERNOON OR ONE MORNING A WEEK FOR INTENSIVE STUDY. Use it as a time to catch up, organize, and summarize the weekâs topics so studying near exams wonât be too much of a hassle. DONâT LET IT PILE UP ON YOU!
MAKE A LIST OF EVERYTHING YOU NEED DONE IN A STUDY SESSION. Preferably on a separate piece of paper or a notepad. Itâs easier to track your progress and itâs not as overwhelming to look at compared to a planner where you can see all your tasks for the week.
STAY ORGANIZED. Make sure all your notes and study materials are organized. I like to separate my stuff into âpacketsâ per subject so that when you need to study a certain subject, you donât have to rummage through all your papers. You can just start studying right away. And itâs easier to study for finals as well since all your notes, papers, and answered problems are all in one place already.
WRITE YOUR QUESTIONS. Write questions that come up when you study and ask your teacher or friends or even just research it by yourself later.
STUDY FIRST, THEN HOMEWORK. If you do homework first, youâll feel accomplished and that youâve done enough work for the day and put off studying. This is very important especially if there is a test/exam you should be preparing for.
DO ALL YOUR OWN WORK. You get NOTHING from copying someone elseâs homework/problem set. It defeats the purpose of having a homework in the first place. Always make an effort to do it on your own (unless itâs a group work of course).
ITâS BETTER TO DEEPLY UNDERSTAND A LIMITED AMOUNT OF MATERIAL THAN TO HAVE A VAGUE IDEA OF THE GENERAL TOPICS. Trust me. I do not remember the number of times where I felt complacent in knowing the âbasicsâ of everything and when someone asks me questions I have no idea what theyâre talking about. Itâs important to really understand what youâre studying, especially if itâs already your majors. Â
HAVE AT LEAST ONE DAY A WEEK WHERE YOU DONâT STUDY OR DO ANY HOMEWORK AT ALL (IF POSSIBLE). Donât burn yourself out! Pick a day where you donât have anything due the next day and watch a movie, binge watch a series, or even just catch up on some sleep. Taking time for yourself is always important.
NO AMOUNT OF STUDY TIPS IS GOING TO HELP YOU IF YOUâRE NOT WILLING TO PUT IN THE WORK AND EFFORT. The most important thing is to just start. :)
Good luck, guys! I hope this was helpful and that this semester will be your best yet. Stay positive and never stop improving yourselves!

Yâknow I reblogged this a bit ago and was saved from financial probation and getting kicked out of school because of it, just mere months from graduation. Got a call from the financial aid advisor telling me that they made a mistake with filing my account (or some other sort of clerical error) and said that, basically, they owe me money. Welp.
Last time I reblogged the money cat, I won two $100 gift cards at work.
Give me some money moneycat đ± please please đ
Someone else's success does not equal your own failure.
Iâm learning German and I love it because its vocabulary is so straightforward and blunt. How do you say âfoodâ? âEssenâ. How do you say the verb âeatâ? âEssenâ. How do you say âmealâ? âEssenâ. We food food at food time. How do you say âfleshâ? âFleischâ. How do you say âmeatâ? âFleischâ. âKittensâ are âcat-childrenâ. I love German.
