Ya’ll folks around here get to see the end product of what goes on during the convention.
But ya’ll know that there’s always a behind the scenes.
ESPECIALLY if ya’ll sew your own cosplay!
Now I know that there’s also a behind the scenes with buying as well,
I’m not exactly the most focused nor organized cosplay seamstress.
Couple years back, the captain tess crew was helping me sew the night before the con. We didn’t even finish! I had to sew AT the convention as well! It was horrible!
The problem was that I had too much confidence in myself. I’m the MAIN seamstress. The captain is learning and she can sew a bit too, but I’m the one who is really into sewing. I was so into it, that I took on projects for 3 other people including myself. I was sure I could do it but my time management skills are little to no good.
That’s how I ended up in that situation.
But even though that was the worst of times, I still had problems.
Every year, I have this idea that I need to do my friends before mine, so mine is always thrown together at the last minute.
Miss Tess hated that. She asked me why I always did that and I simply said that I felt hers was important too.
After all these years, I finally have a schedule.
It’s probably the best idea we’ve had for our cosplaying adventures.
By January 15th, I need to be done re making Weiss Schnee for this current season.
Then I’ll have the rest of January to make Tomoyo. It’s a very easy cosplay, so I shouldn’t need to take so long to make it. Which is why I’m given a couple of weeks to do it. Now in the past I did her summer uniform, but according to google, her winter uniform is more popular. I am planning on making that top an actual sweater b/c if it’s a winter uniform I expect it to actually be a sweater. Maybe I’m wrong about the material, but I see no evidence to prove me wrong.
Once I’m finished with that, I’ll have two months to finish Card captor Sakura. That is to say, the end of march. Now, The Captain has worn this before, but we bought it. This time I’m going to make it! Our goal this year is to enter our CCS in the Anime fest cosplay contest. This is why I’m working on these early. The earlier these are done the better.
Next, I’ll have till May 15th to work on Lilly.
The Captain and I decided it’s been too long since she’s done a pokemon cosplay. This new design is really cute! And a new color scheme as well. Normally the captain does things that are pink or blue. Now we’re tackling a white color pallet. There’s a splash of blue, yes, but overall, this is a new color scheme.
My final deadline will be June 15th for Ursula.
I haven’t decided on a design for her yet.
But I do plan on making her.
But if I’m able to do any of those quicker and I am able to finish all the earlier,
then the very last thing I’d make is Acerola.
I have a lot of work to do and a nicely planned schedule to keep me on track.
Hopefully I will stay on track,
We’ll find out when January 15th approaches!
