thinking about thomas softly saying “indeed” when fanny calls cap brave for opening up about havers and his death. he hugged cap that night before going to bed i just know it

4x01 shows me that captain would not survive thomas being an actual well known poet. he does not want to share his man

Okay, a modern day, teachers capthorne au...

The Captain is a PE teacher, who's lessons more resemble military drills. There are two ways to get out of his lessons, ask him about his time in the army and he will spend the following hour telling everyone everything about it, or claim you’re on your period at which point he will go "Eh, yes...right...eh..." before dismissing you. One memorable time, half the class skipped out with this excuse, even a couple of the boys because the Captain got so flustered.

Then we have Thomas, a failed poet who’s mother got him the job as an english teacher because she plays golf with the headmaster or something like that. He saw Dead Poets Society once and now he is convinced that he is the next Mr. Keating. Several students have fallen asleep during his poetry recitals, but at least they don’t have to read the classics like Byron because they’re teacher hates him as much as they do.

Maybe one day, Thomas lesson runs over time, either because of a recital or a rant about Byron, meaning that the students are late for PE, at which point the Captain barges into the classroom demanding answers.

From that point onwards the students decide to set them up, because yes, they’re both pathetic, but at least they could be pathetic together you know....

I’m surprised I haven’t seen as many Mick/the Captain content considering in s4 ep1 Mick is entirely smitten with the Captain (I mean, same)

Just before Thomas recites his poem, he looks at the Captain like this (without context, he does look a little horrified. But I can assure you he’s staring in admiration)

Then the Captain looks back at him and lightly clears his throat, as he is one to do.

After Cap’s little speech about heroes and men Mick looks at him like this (although that could just be the spark of inspiration)

And of course at the end of the episode he asks about Brigadier General Sir Anthony Bartholomew Raisinby Jones (I think that’s his name) and let’s the Captain ramble on about him

This post literally started off as a silly little joke but now I’m slowly pushing myself towards this ship
