“And here we have our little Judy on her first Easter,” Bonnie said, handing the picture frame to him.
“Oh. My. God,” Nick said, holding the photo in both paws as he stared down at what had to be the most ridiculously cute thing he had ever seen in his entire life. And his partner was a bunny, so that was saying something.
“Hey, guys!” Judy said happily as she wandered in and sat next to him. “What are you… No. No no no no! Mom!”
“Oh hush, dear. You were the sweetest little Easter Bunny.”
Nick grinned as she buried her face in her paws. “What’s wrong, Carrots? You are the c…”
“Don’t say it,” she warned, glaring up at him with heat in her lavender eyes.
“Oh, hush now, Judy,” her mom chided, reaching down to pat Nick’s knee in a motherly manor. “If you’re fox can’t say it, then who can.”
“B-bu… Mom, he’s not ‘my fox’!” she protested, feeling the insides of her ears burn with embarrassment as Nick looked down at her with a wide grin.
“Oh please,” the older bunny said, rolling her eyes slightly. “Just because you haven’t admitted it yet doesn’t make it less true. Now you go, ahead, Nick. Say what you were going to say.”
“You are the cutest Easter bunny ever!” he said in a rush, grabbing a flustered Judy and squeezing her close. Touching his muzzle to her ear, he added, “And I will gladly be your Easter fox this year.”
