o1. i'm not so afraid, lost at sea (open)

Sakura still isn't used to Kairos. Before entering middle school, she had rarely ended up in the city--Paralia had its own elementary school, after all, and her family barely ever had a need to venture into the city. A few times she had gone to some of her fathers lectures at the university with her brother, and once in a while they would go out for a special dinner on one of their birthdays or some such--but other than that, Paralia was her whole life. So it stood to reason that, now that she's a middle schooler and finally getting the chance to explore the city more often, Sakura Kinomoto finds herself far too frequently lost.

Frequently and embarrassingly, and today...is one of those days. She had missed her train and thought--with an extra hour to kill and no need to be home so soon anyways, why not look around? And now she's ended up here. Wherever here actually happens to be, since she has no idea where she is.

[Looks like he’d been right on the mark with his guess. Good. It would have been somewhat embarrassing to hand something like that back to someone who didn’t own it. Not to mention it would make hunting down the proper owner more difficult…which he would do, despite that. It wasn’t really like him to leave things like that be. Call him an idiot, but it was just how he was.

Once the keys were back in the girl’s possession, Sano returned his hands to his side, grin widening. The gratitude was always nice, even if he didn’t expect it.]

It’s no problem, you’d probably be in trouble without them.

[The light lingering gaze on his face was dismissed, as most people tended to give the ugly red mark a few stares in passing. He was used to it by now. But now that he took a good look at her, his face falls into something more akin to concentration as a tug of familiarity hits. He’s not saying he knows her really, nor has he talked to her, but…

In Paralia, it’s common to see almost every face at some point. Maybe it was passing in the street or maybe sharing the same train, but she definitely struck some sort of chord.]

Hey…you’re from Paralia too, right? I think I’ve seen you once or twice.

Eh? How could she not have remembered his face? He's kind of the sort to stand out, but...well, Sakura admits to herself, she does get pretty air headed sometimes. "I'm from Paralia, yeah," She agrees shyly. "I commute for school." She felt oddly embarrassed--she hadn't really had the chance to talk to too many people or make new friends since she and her family moved in, after all, so it had been a while since her last casual conversation outside of family or school. But she does want to make friends.

"Do you go to school here, too?" She asks, because he really can't be more than a year or two older than her at best. Maybe they go to the same school, unless he's in high school. It would be nice to know someone either way.

Gamma: In terms of regaining memories, what’s the one thing you can’t wait for your character to get back?

probably her friendship(s) with tomoyo and syaoran, or her cards. these are things that were incredibly important to her. of course, because of personal bias, i definitely cant wait for her to remember tomoyo.

Alpha: How have you au’d your character to fit the setting?

sakura is a middle schooler rather than an elementary schooler. her personality is much the same as it was before, though she hasnt undergone the same kind of development as in canon as she hasnt struggled with the clow cards and her magic. her family came to paralia/kairos because her father received a wonderful job opportunity teaching at a university in kairos...or something, hahashes still as curious and adventurous as in canon. i look forward to having her socialize more so she can develop more relationships and fit in!

Epsilon: Do you feel like your character is living a better life now that they’re au’d, or did they lead a better life in their original universe.

well. thats kind of tough to answer! i think when sakuras memories start to come back, shell have preferred her old life to her new one--after all, she went through so much with her friends and her family in her old life, and struggled a lot, but it was worth it. she was very happy before.which isnt to say shes unhappy now--but she doesnt have her friends here either (not yet, anyway).

Crap…not around here either, huh?

[A sigh followed as the figure kneeling on the grass got up and stretched, looking around the park with an almost disappointed gaze. Figures there’s be nothing around here…but in such a populated place, what was he to to expect? There’s no way he’d find that here.]

Gh…No! I can’t give up.

I’ll definitely find it.

[…Maybe not today, though. There was only so much time in a day you could spend hunting around for a hot spring, and it was already the afternoon. He’d really lost track of time again….and he still had to catch the train back to Paralia at some point before dark. A hand came up to scratch at the back of his head, Sano’s gaze flitting back to the people in front of him as he made his way down the street. How many times had he been down this street? It was hard to tell. Over a hundred times, definitely.

Maybe he should try on the other side of town…that might be a bit dangerous, though. Not like he was scared of much to be begin with. With thoughts drifting elsewhere, he failed to notice the thing under his foot until he had actually stepped on it, stopping immediately to look down and blink. Oh, geez, at least it didn’t seem to be broken. He quickly took his foot off and bent down to pick it up, eyes shifting from it to the person who seemed to have accidentally dropped it. With a positive identification in mind, he quickly nudged past someone in his way and tapped the individual in question on the shoulder, holding out what he’d found.]

Hey, is this yours?

I accidentally stepped on it, but I think it’s fine.

The streets of Kairos were especially crowded today, and Sakura was on her way back to the train station--after all, she couldn't stay in the city too late, lest her father get worried. But she had done a good deal of exploring. She'd even found a few new cake shops she hadn't noticed before, so she privately made plans to go back and get some for her dad and brother. And herself, of course. Bumping into people on crowded sidewalks isn't uncommon, but she's still surprised when someone's hand finds it's way on her shoulder, and then-- "Is this yours? I accidentally stepped on it, but I think it's fine." She turns, quickly, to see a stranger--a boy, not much older than her--holding out her house keys.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry! Thank you for picking them up!" Really. It wouldn't have been good if she'd lost those, and it sure was nice of him to pick them up. A lot of people would be too distracted or in too much of a hurry. She wondered, briefly, what had happened to scar his face like that--but it was none of her business, and his smile was kind despite his almost intimidating look. "Thank you so much," She says again, her smile grateful.
