Shadow’s the Ultimate Lifeform, no doubt he’d endured worse-- but her ears flick back in concern, brows furrowed together. Lips purse as her head tilts at him; this line of work was brutal, would jade even the brightest of sparks, but she couldn’t help her worry. They were technically colleagues, after all.

Zeena just kind of stares and blinks in response. Evidently, the concept of a pet was not something the zeti had. The idea that not all animals were for eating was complete blasphemy to her. It would be to any Zeti! After all, animals eat animals. That’s just how nature worked.

She can’t help but rub her temples and shake her head as all of this information is too weird. “I just…..arggh….you creatures are weird! Do people not have a pack to rely upon then? These animal companions are their poor attempt to rectify that?”

“I meaaan... Packs aren’t really a thing anymore. Don’t need to hunt and gather when you’ve got supermarkets and all, right? You know what those are, surely!”

Clearly, underestimating the limited knowledge of Mobian civilisation and society the Zeti has, here, one hand on her hip and the other reaching up to scratch ths side of her head.

“They’re just, like, friends that you keep in your house! You don’t eat them-- uh, I mean, sure, some animals you eat, but some are just pets. And some animals you can’t eat at all!”

... And admittedly, explaining such concepts is proving hard, too. It doesn’t even make much sense to her, it’s just the way things are!
