The thing with Scike is that I don’t even think Mike has like a secret evil side that only Scott can see, I don’t think Scott inherently makes Mike worse, I wouldn’t classify Mike as a liar or a huge asshole or even as really morally gray. I think that Mike is just so afraid to be human and be perceived in any negative way by like anyone he likes that he can only act genuinely normal around Scott. Around people he wants to impress or fit in with, he feels pressured to not show any flaws, or even any neutral traits to a degree; he wants to be the most perfect, most inoffensive, most normal-seeming guy of all time. But around Scott. he has no reason to act this way, because he (at least initially) doesn’t respect Scott or his opinion. He’s not afraid to be moody, crass, bitter, passive aggressive, or cold. Sure, he’s not relaxed around Scott, he can’t be scared or insecure around him, but in a way, being around Scott also removes the thing he’s most scared and insecure about— being perceived as bad or strange by someone he wants to impress. Mike isn’t 100% comfortable with Scott, he knows he can’t come to him about secrets like he can with Cameron or for gentle comfort like he can with Zoey, but he can be imperfect around him, and that’s also a form of vulnerability. You don’t have to be a villain to have a few aspects of yourself that you aren’t or shouldn’t be especially proud of— especially when you’re a mentally ill teenager on “sic mentally ill teenagers on each other for money” island. Mike doesn’t get to be his worst self around Scott, he just gets to be himself. I don’t think the real Mike is bad, I think he’s scared and avoidant, and while he’s definitely scared of Scott in some ways, in others, Scott’s company gives him some much-needed respite. Of course that respite wouldn’t be necessary if he was able to just feel free to be himself around everyone but, once again, Mike from “exploiting vulnerable teens for profit: the show”, the reasons that he acts the way he does and his unwillingness to change and the many flaws in his writing are their own cans of worms, and you’re still in the yaoi aisle of the bait and tackle shop. Anyways do you think Mike’s fear of being hated gave him crazy internalized homophobia or what
shed a tear reading this one. have a happy new scike
Anyways I think it’s really funny that so many people talk about the Mutant Maggots being a found family but never the Toxic Rats. Mutant Maggots wrestle and bicker like cousins who had to hang out every weekend as kids and now they’re immune to each other. Toxic Rats are like a team working on a semester-long group project where everyone wants each other genuinely dead by the end of it, and it’s mostly Scott’s fault
Dawn swan, Scott frog (I took a quick side quest oops)
sigh…. reloaded scott design they still talk about you
courtney sketch i ended up coloring and some dawn and zoey i did by memory during class 😭
total! yuri! island!
BIG FAT HEADCANNONS
The Svetlana, Manitoba, and Chester designs were created before I actually researched on what is a headspace and how it works. I still really liked the designs I made so I figured I’d just finish the group with making Mal and Vito. I would say this is what I imagine the alters see themselves.
Vito wants to be seen as a big hunky italian man whos wayyyyyyyy cooler than the lame twig called Mike.
Chester is old and is cold all the goddamn time.
Manitoba is just Crocodile Dundee.
I made Svetlana a fake blonde because I wanted her to be related in some form to Mal, Mike, and Vito. But she still wants to distance herself from them.
Mal will always be Mike’s metaphorical cojoined twin. Mal hates the fact that he shares a face with Mike, so he tries to change what he can to make them look different. He likes having long hair as it gives him variety with styles.
Silly dumb AU where Mike and Cameron are roommates. Scott is Mike’s shitty handy man. Dawn is Scott’s neighbor who lives in the apartment across from him. Scott is in a situationship with both Mike and Mal without knowing that their not the same person, but he’s not dumb and can tell that something is very wrong with both of them.
Below is Mal’s back with no robe cause I was really proud of how a shaded his back. Also yes I did use ms paint color pallette
carcrashscike makes scike edit whaaaaaaat
gb zoke these crazy kids in love
Thinking of Scike a lot recently. I was considering a vampire AU for them and couldn’t decide on who to pick to be a vampire, before realizing that it would kind of make sense if they were both vampires and had to feed with/from each other. Symbolic of the way they both feel separate from other people in their lives and recognize the insecurities in each other, how they can only be vulnerable with each other about certain things, how they thrive best when they work (feed) together even though they’re so reluctant to do so, etc. Also yaaaay they both get to have blood all over their mouths. Guys who ate too many fruit gushers. Ok whatever
I’m gonna start talking about TD characters and ships like how homophobic and transphobic fans on reddit do. Duncney wasn’t ever canonically dating, they were just friends, boyfriend and girlfriend are platonic terms. Harold didn’t have feelings for Leshawna, he just wrote her romantic poetry for fun, I don’t know why straight people need to force it down everyone’s throat. I respect straight people, I headcanon Carrie as straight, I just don’t think it’s realistic that more than like one or two characters would exclusively like the opposite gender. It’s unrealistic that any of the characters would be cis in 2010, maybe Amy could be but even that’s a stretch
some fem scott and mal doodles idkay… 🚬
basically alemike
ok last scike of the night. but a major factor as to why i scike so hard is because i do headcanon that, had they established any non negative connection (hard ask, ik), mike would be more willing to be honest with scott over his established canon relationships
what do i mean by this?
mike is shown to values others opinions of him to a harmful degree, wanting to always display his most kind, good, and "normal" self to those around him. this is what causes him to hide his disorder from the entire roti cast, especially zoey, who he desperately craves approval from. one of the extremely few contestants he shows outward distain and mistrust towards is scott, who he immediately deems a "psycho" with little interraction. scott is the one contestant who mike can truly be nasty (well, nasty by mike's standards) towards and feel no remorse.
fast forward to tdas mike and zoey are heavily implied to have been in a relationship for the last year or so, with cameron being their joint custody best friend. now, at no point of this year offscreen did mike even hint to his two closest bonds that mal was thing at all. zoey needs to be told explicitly by duncan who mal is and how they met in juvie--- another tidbit of backstory ommitted by mike. despite being in an established relationship and best friendship with zoey and cam, respectively, mike has not yet killed his habit of lying by omission to those around him in order to appear better/more moral in their eyes.
but how does scott fit in here?
well, scott is established to be one of the few people mike doesn't seem eager to please or impress. he brings out a side of mike that he doesn't like--- not necessarily mal levels of exaggerated villainy, but a streak of bitterness and snideness that completely goes against the kind and affable version of himself that he wants to portray. in a lot of respects he's at his most raw and honest with scott, dropping all pretenses that would come by vying for his approval and friendship.
mike doesn't feel the need to impress or win over scott, since he views him as morally corrupt. scott is outwardly mean in a way that mike could never be for fear of further social ostracism. likewise, scott views mike as a total freakish wierdo who he would have no desire to show off to. because of this, i can very well see mike dropping his permanent veil of kindness and concealed truths with scott. they can share darker jokes and engage in crude banter and be their worst and most honest selves with each other.
