That's why she was so distraught.

The most painful thing about her public condemnation of him in the past is that ultimately it made no difference. His brother had already stacked the scales. The dead body in the well, the other testimony. She was not actually needed to condemn him, but she was made to do it in an act of cruelty. His brother saw what she meant to him and wanted him broken, everything stripped from him.

And in this world it's the same, he doesn't just want his place, he wants to totally break him...

the colors and costuming, the references to the castle that inspired the disney castle, the song ofc, a woman who comes in from the outside and shakes up the world of a lonely and misunderstood man who won't let go of her... wait is this play drama about us an allegory for the beauty and the beast????

on a more serious note there is something so moving and heartwrenching about two very lonely people who've been kicked in the teeth by life earnestly and truly reaching for a fairytale for themselves. that's why the disney song didn't feel like overkill. their earnestness is the point.

🪄 Episode 7 with our darlings reuniting in the blinding light of camera flashes while When You Wish Upon a Star plays was a perfect fairytale kdrama ending.

So what else do the writers have in store for us? We are only halfway through with 7 eps to go. Which stresses me out a bit cause the show is basically perfect so far.

Prayer circle that the show sticks the landing and keeps being this brilliant.
