A very warm welcome to my blog. It is a pleasure to have you here. :)

You may call me Grandpa/Grampa (Dobie) or just Mister, if you do not like those terms. I use he/him primarily but I also accept they/them.

I am an adult, and I am a system (Dobie is not an introject, I am just roleplaying him for fun, because I feel close to him when in a Grandpa-role)

This blog is for coining Caregiver terms. I accept requests sometimes, but I may be selective about them. I may also coin system terms - likely around caregivers in-system.

I do not come up with fancy names for the terms I create, they're usually very descriptive.

You may use my flags freely for anything you'd like, and if making profile pictures, banners etc, please tag me! I would love to see it. :)

You may also send me asks if you are regressed and want to talk to a caregiver. :)

Trauma Healing Carer Regressor Duo Flag

A flag for both caregivers/caretakers/carers and regressor duos who interact with each other in an agere/petre (etc) context in order to heal from similar trauma. The flag may be used by an individual in the duo to represent their relationship with another, or by a duo together to characterise their relationship. The trauma may be an event experienced by individuals together or different events which were similar.

The reds and oranges represent the caregiver of the dynamic, and the blues and purples represent the regressor of the dynamic. The dark red represents the pain inherent to trauma, and the reds and oranges represent finding strength and hope, and tapping into caregiving instincts as a way to cope. The dark blue/purple represents the pain linked to trauma as well, and the lighter purples represent the ability to be vulnerable around someone else following the trauma, and finding regression as a way to cope. The white in the centre represents healing and hope for both parties - found through caregiving/regression. This includes vent caregiving/regression - which is often a healthy way to deal with such traumas.

⋱ ― ♱ . THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR REGRESSOR FOR DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS ♱

provide plenty of time in advance to prepare when possible. giving week notices, month notices, etc. various reminders to make sure it doesn't feel too sudden or like a jumpscare

practice the appointment with a stuffed animal at home! sometimes it helps to see their plushie is gonna be okay afterwards too

encourage them to talk to their therapist about it (if they have one)! not only that but talk to them and ask about what could be done to help them feel safer!

piggy-backing off of the last point, consider medical advocacy if needed. sometimes regressors have a hard time speaking up for themselves in the medical space. if you feel comfortable, maybe you might be able to learn what you can do to help ensure they are advocated for (i only have minor experience as a medical advocate so look up resources online or at the library)

ensure they're taking their meds responsibly. regularly, routinely, and as they're supposed to. eating beforehand if needed included.

make sure they are as comfortable as possible for the trip. comfortable clothing, an ESSA along if needed, stim toys, snacks and drinks in the car too.

afterwards, maybe they could use a treat! i personally really like getting icecream after scary doctors appointments so maybe you could take them for a treat or meal! or if you can't eat out somewhere, stop at a park or library or somewhere comforting afterwards before going home

when you get home, ensure there's lots of rest if it was really stressful. taking a nap afterwards or drinking extra water, maybe even a good bath or shower might be nice. or just alone time! it's totally okay if they just need to be alone to decompress afterwards

also as a caregiver, be kind to YOURSELF! you won't always be able to help and that's natural and okay. but you can't pour into someone else's cup if yours is empty. give yourself a chance to rest and prepare as well.

🥞 cozy ──୨ৎ── being all warm nd cozy can make it harder to get outta bed, so try to have something cozy for them when they get out! like fuzzy soft slippers or a soft blanket

🐥 calm ──୨ৎ── have a calming but wakeup activity ready! such as coloring!

🐥 patience ──୨ৎ── have patience! rushing people can just stress them out or put them in a rushed anxious mood

🐥 decisions ──୨ৎ── decisions can be a struggle when you're regressed and waking up, so talk to them to see if they'd rather have you make the decisions or them! or if they still wanna make their own decisions, give them options to pick from! like instead of asking what they wanna wear, give them a few outfits to pick from!

Ceramic(s) Caregiver Flag

For caregivers who have a connection to ceramics, enjoy making ceramics, use ceramics in their caregiving, liken their personality to ceramics, relate to the aesthetic of ceramics, identifying with/as ceramics or in any other way relevant to the idea of caregiving and ceramics.

The browns and oranges represent the warmth, and steady hands of a caregiver as well as the colours of unglazed pottery and clay.

Excuse me, Mister! Please, could I request a coining for caregivers or caretakers that in some form have a connection to ceramics? This could be anything from enjoying ceramics, likening ones personality to being like ceramic, relating to the aesthetic of ceramics, identifying in some way as ceramic, being made of ceramic, so on so forth?

Albatross Caregiver Flag

For feminine queer caregivers who prefer masculine terms while caregiving. They may also be masculine, but it is intended for those who are primarily feminine in presentation. For example: a lesbian who prefers to be called "dada" when caregiving would be an Albatross Caregiver.

The colours are taken from the colours of the albatross (chosen because of my personal love for them as well as documented homosexual behaviour in the wild).

Toucan Caregiver Flag

For masculine queer caregivers who prefer feminine terms while caregiving. They may also be feminine, but it is intended for those who are primarily masculine in presentation. For example: a gay man who prefers to be called "mama" when caregiving would be a Toucan Caregiver.

The colours of the flag are muted versions of colours found on toucans (for friendliness towards users with eyestrain). I chose toucans due to their documented homosexual behaviour in the wild, as well as just my own personal liking of toucans. :)

Caretaker Flag

For those who prefer the term Caretaker over Caregiver, made with caretakers of pet regressors in mind - but not exclusive. Caretakers may have another name that a regressor calls them, but they may also use the term Caretaker.

The teals represent moving away from more traditional terms and being a bit outside the box, and the yellows and oranges represent the warmth and care that they hold towards regressors, as well as representing those who take care of pet regressors.

Lullaby Caregiver Flag

For caregivers who love to use lullabies to soothe their little ones, or who enjoy lullabies themselves to ease their stress. This is also for caregivers who identity with/as lullabies, feel connected to, or simply enjoy lullabies.

The blues represent sleepiness and calming yourself at sleep time when lullabies are most often sung, and the pinks represent the sweetness and gentleness often found in lullabies.

Fun Uncle Caregiver

For caregivers who feel connected to the idea of being a Fun Uncle. This term is not gender exclusive, and can refer to anyone who sees themselves a Fun Uncle, but is intended to have a more masculine vibe. Fun Uncles may not have many rules when caregiving, let their regressor get into trouble, and generally are more lenient. Fun Uncles may be primary or secondary caregivers.

The greens represent fun and freedom, and being a bit more untraditional and the oranges represent being a loving caregiver who despite prioritising fun, still cares for their regressor's safety.

For caregivers who feel connected to sudoku in some way, enjoy sudoku, or who use sudoku when caregiving, or who identify with/as sudoku.

The browns represent the warmth of caregivers, and getting comfortable to do sudoku, and the greys represent the pencil scribbles made to solve the puzzle.
