🖍 getting comics and diary-like books (dork diaries, tapper twins, wimpy kid) at the library and staying up late reading them

🌈 school yard games: catch, hide and seek, hopscotch - or playing with a skipping rope, balancing on low walls like a tightrope, playing football or dancing

🪩 pyjama parties!! wearing your favourite pj's, eating way too many snacks and pizza, staying up late giggling together and watching a movie, talking in bed for hours, pillow fights, and secretly taking a stuffie along just in case (turns out all the other kids also have their stuffies with them)

🐕 having a stack of your favourite cd's, putting them on in the morning and feeling like the main character of your favourite movie

🍿 asking your cg soo nicely for some money or a ride to the movies with your friends, being dropped off and putting all of your pocket money together for snacks and slushies

🎠 puzzle books on long car/train rides, playing your very first video games, sometimes reading your old kids books even though you're wayyy too old for them now

🥞 getting more and more independent: learning how to cook your very first meals (something easy like pasta or pancakes), taking the bus on your own, babysitting your younger sibling

Being permanently stuck at a younger age mentally is......something.

I can't live alone, not fully, not unsupervised. I have my own rented appartment, but I have to be checked on daily by my parents.

I can't work, I'm very socially stunted so I get picked on or taken advantage of EASILY by other adults. I assume everyone will be as kind as I am toward them, and despite being proven wrong multiple times, I can't stop. I suppose it makes me naive.

I can't study, I did my absolute best, but school is a very triggering environment and burnout is never too far away. My record is two weeks without being absent.

And why oh why ? Trauma, autism, other disabilities.

So shout out to permaregressors wishing they could do more than what they're doing now, who don't want to be too much for anyone, be it caretakers, friends or family. Shout out to you guys, I'm proud of you, you're so much more than you think you are.

The final home for my little school of fish! They don't stand up well (they're fish, of course they don't) so I wanted somewhere they could hang as a display. Luckily I have the perfect spot in my closet cozy corner! I love sitting there and watching them gently spin together.

Don't tell the others, but I definitely have a favorite :)

The metal pieces are some old earring parts I had leftover from a jewelry class way back when, left open for a more fishhook-like appearance and so I can quickly take just the fish back down again - or swap their places if I want! The strings are looped around a pole for hanging clothes on rather than directly tied in place, so the entire structure can be easily taken down or moved if I need to.

Biotweens date, so of course you're capable as well! There will of course be a bit of a mental age gap unless you date another permaregressor, but as long as you're upright and honest about it I don't think that's a problem. Part-time regressors have that gap sometimes too, and we don't think less of them when that happens!

I hope you don't mind but I'm gonna add onto this. I think even if a permaregressor is mentally younger than their partner a lot of the time they still have the comprehension and experiences of an adult. They are capable of understanding things much better than a child and have fundamental skills many children don't have. So I think while people like to infantalize permaregressors we don't actually think or act exactly like children.Please stop assuming that every aspect of a permaregressor is stunted when a lot of the time in at least some capacity we understand and comprehend how an adult would.But yeah thank you for coming to my ted talk, also ty Anon we love your support here!
