Cat’s Corner

Built where Catarina Lynx’s house was in Brindleton Bay, Cat’s Corner is the place for coffee, croissants, book-shopping, surfing the internet, grabbing an ice cream cone, and conversing with the locals.

I used the Cafe venue designation because I like the variety of activities patrons usually engage in - ordering coffee and pastries, reading books, using the computers, chatting, etc. However in my playtesting, it seems they mostly just wanted to congregate around the espresso machine. XD I did see Sims use the computers, but it was rare. However, if you want Sims to venture elsewhere onto the lot for RP or story purposes, you could try deleting the espresso machine for awhile. (Although you might want to place it again before you leave, otherwise the game will consider the venue “incomplete” and you may not get any visitors at all next time.)

SIMSIE’S STARTER SAVE 2.0 NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD!

With Cats & Dogs coming out soon I wanted to release the version that I’ve been working on for the last couple months. I’ll be updating again with version 3.0 after The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs comes out.

So what’s different?

The Get To Work lots are renovated! The hospital, police station, and science lab are all shiny and new. Except not new. Just fixed.

I also went in and fixed Granite Falls. I renovated all of the lots a tiny bit and placed a new bar.

I replaced a couple townies with better ones and also placed all of EA’s Sims from the most recent trailers. Not all of the trailer Sims have houses (boo, there aren’t enough lots), but they’re all in the world.

Some previous lots and households have been updated to include Fitness Stuff, Toddler Stuff, and Parenthood.

NETFLIX LEGACY

Hi! So I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to make a Legacy challenge! After an hour or so of deciding what it should be I decided on a Legacy based on TV shows! It is known as the Netflix Legacy! If there are any flaws in the challenge, let me know and I will edit them.

Rules

- Can start on any lot but with the standard legacy amount of money (1800)

- Don’t have to stay on the lot you start with

- Mods are allowed

- Money cheats are not allowed

Generation 1: Girlboss

“There are secret opportunities hidden inside every failure.”

- Must be YA - Must have 3 jobs before buying a retail lot (Never beyond Level 2) - Must only sell things bought/stolen from other places/stores - Must be Noncommital - If Kleptomaniac, must master Mischief Skill - Have 2-3 Kids - Must get married

Generation 2: Riverdale

Begins when a teenager (all of them)

If Betty Cooper:

Generation 4: Stranger Things (Playing as Eleven)

how do you ombre recolour hair?

I do it a really hard and tedious way, bc I like to make the colour from scratch and I like it to look natural. Basically I load up the texture in photoshop (normally the ea light grey) I edit it to make it a tad lighter using image>adjustments>hue/saturation

Then I use the rectangle shape tool and place separate rectangles over every single strand on the texture. Then i use a process of elimination to work out which strand is which, by hiding some of the rectangles then saving and doing that over and over until I’m left with the strands that I want to be ombre (This hair already has ombre so I didn’t need to do that).Then I change the blending mode of the rectangles to linear burn, make the fill of the ombre stands gradient and pop in the colours. If needed/ if base of the hair texture isn’t in one spot (this one is so this step isn’t needed), I just create a new layer, paint bucket it the same base colour, change the blending mode to linear burn and cut out (using the rectangle select tool) where the ombre rectangles are (otherwise they’ll show up darker than the rest of the hair).

Normally I will load it up in S4S regularly throughout this process just to make sure everything is on the right track and everything is where it should be.

There are much easier ways to do it, but I like how this turns out! Sometimes I’ll even hand paint the texture!
