Favorite Book Moments: Twilight - Carlisle’s Backstory “How old is Carlisle?” I asked quietly, ignoring his question, still staring up. “He just celebrated his three hundred and sixty-second birthday,” Edward said. I looked back at him, a million questions in my eyes.
inspo.
Since Carlisle was alone for so long, that means he was most likely pretty touched starved. Just imagine the first time Esme would have, very briefly, touched his hand.
For the rest of the day, Carlisle is just staring at the spot she touched, internally having a break down. Meanwhile, Edward’s in the other room, trying not to rip his hair out.
Favorite Book Moments: Breaking Dawn, Ch. 12 - Some People Just Don’t Grasp The Concept of “Unwelcome”, page 234 I wanted to be angry with him, but he was making it hard. It was like he was throwing my own words back at me, just scrambled up. They’d sounded right before, but they couldn’t be right now. Not with Bella dying. Still… I remembered how it felt to be broken on the ground under Sam–to have no choice but be involved in the murder of someone I loved. It wasn’t the same, though. Sam was wrong. And Bella loved things she shouldn’t.
“But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”
- C.S. Lewis

Carlisle & Esme
“So now the guests are gone…”
Carlisle and Esme get some private time after Edward & Bella’s Wedding.
A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan. There is no word for a parent who loses a child. That’s how awful the loss is. - Jay Neugeboren – An Orphan’s Tale – 1976
