“When we start drinking, we won’t be able to pronounce them anyway,” Lorelai giggled, her tone light and full of anticipation as she thought about the day ahead with Cleo. There was something comforting about the idea of the two of them finally having time to themselves, away from work, responsibilities, and everything else that usually filled their schedules. Lorelai could already picture it clearly in her mind: lying back on a sun lounger, a romance book resting in her hands, the warmth of the sun slowly tanning her skin while the world around her felt distant and slow. It was the kind of simple peace she rarely allowed herself to enjoy, and she was determined to make the most of it. Turning slightly toward Cleo, she smiled with genuine curiosity. “You’ll have to let me know how the pool water feels,” she confessed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “If it’s cold, I am not getting in. If it’s warm, I’ll consider it.” She wasn’t the strongest swimmer and never had been, but she still enjoyed the feeling of being in the water for short moments, floating or cooling off when the heat became too much.
Cleo laughed softly at that, already knowing Lorelai wasn't wrong. By the time they got a few drinks in them, the cocktail names didn't really matter as long as they tasted good. "That's the spirit," she teased. "Just point at the menu and hope for the best." The thought of spending the day doing absolutely nothing productive sounded perfect. No rushing around. No responsibilities. Just sun, water, and good company. At the mention of the pool, Cleo's eyes lit up immediately. "Oh, I'm getting in regardless," she informed her with a grin. "Could be freezing, could be bathwater, I'm swimming." She had always loved the water. Pools, lakes, the ocean, it didn't really matter. The second she saw water, she wanted to be in it. "If it's cold, I'll be the brave one who tests it first." Cleo nudged her shoulder lightly. "And then I'll come back with a full report while you're safely wrapped in a towel judging my life choices." Her smile softened. "But if it's warm, you're coming in with me. At least for a little bit." Cleo tilted her head toward her. "Besides, floating around with a drink sounds way more fun than leaving me in there by myself." Her grin returned. "You can't make me be social with strangers. That's what I brought you for."
"Puh-lease! I'm *hic* fine, honest!" Tony grinned drunkenly as he tried to stand on his feet. "I don't wanna goooo~" He pouted, as the bartender nodded and called an Uber. "I'm just happy this time mister Olivares-Riley has a friend..." Tony looked at Asher before laughing loudly.
"Yeah, something like that," he said to the bartender with an appreciative nod. "Thanks for calling an uber for him." The moment Tony wobbled again, Asher stepped forward and caught him before gravity could make another argument. He carefully pulled one of Tony's arms over his shoulders, keeping a steady grip around his waist. "Come on. The party's over." Keeping a firm hold on him, he guided him toward the door, matching his pace to Tony's unsteady steps. "You know," he started, adjusting his grip slightly. "You don't have to drink away your feelings, right?" His voice was gentle, lacking any judgment. "You can talk to people." Asher's gaze lingered on him for a second before shifting back to the pavement ahead. "To your friends. To me."
Enzo shook his head sideways. "Loving you is the best thing that ever happened to me."he mused, and it was true. It did hurt, of course, this whole situation and not knowing what will follow. Enzo wasn't going to force Isaiah into anything he didn't want to do but if there was any hope for them to stay together and truly be together, he was going to fight for it. When Isaiah asked if he'd come with him, Enzo's eyes showed a little confusion as he looked into his lover's eyes. And as he continued, it became clearer what he meant by that - he was asking a lot but Enzo's been where Isaiah is now and he nodded right away. "Of course, I'll be there with you, for you."Enzo mused and placed his hand on the side of Isaiah's face, looking at him with love and adoration. Enzo pulled him in for a tight hug, locking arms securely around him in his hold. "Everything will be alright - I just have the feeling. And I'll be there for you through it all, promise. You got this, baby."he encouraged, and kissed a spot just under his ear.
Isaiah's breath caught somewhere in his chest at those words. God, that only made this harder. The fear hadn't gone anywhere. If anything, it felt bigger now that the decision was becoming real. His hands were already trembling, fingers curling uselessly into the fabric of Enzo's shirt as though holding on was the only thing keeping him upright. The second Enzo agreed, though, without hesitation, without conditions, something inside him cracked. Isaiah let himself fold into the embrace completely. His forehead pressed against Enzo's shoulder, eyes squeezing shut as he buried himself there. For a moment, he just sat in the safety of his boyfriend's arms, breathing him in, trying to calm the storm rattling around inside his ribs. He was terrified. Terrified of the conversation. Terrified of what people would say. Terrified of what might change afterward. But he knew. He knew this was the right thing. For himself. For Enzo. For the future they deserved. A shaky laugh escaped him, followed by a breath that sounded suspiciously close to breaking. "You always make it sound so easy," he murmured against his shoulder. His arms tightened around Enzo's waist, holding him closer. "I don't feel like I've got this." Isaiah swallowed hard and finally lifted his head enough to look at him. His eyes were glassy, vulnerable, every ounce of fear written across his face. "But I think I want to try." His voice cracked slightly. "I don't wanna keep hiding." The admission sat between them for a second before Isaiah leaned forward again, resting his forehead against Enzo's. "I love you too much to keep pretending." His thumb brushed across Enzo's side, still shaking. "I wanna live my truth." The words came quietly, but there was something steady beneath them now. "And I wanna do it with you and for you."

okay, so maybe she was enjoying herself just a little. the fact was she needed some form of distraction and maddox was providing it. the more they played into the fantasy the more wrapped up she was getting that the outside world beyond their little in penetrative bubble did not matter. her orbs were fully fixed on him like superglue. there was little that could shift her concentration level as he spoke in such a challenging tone it made her scoff with a slight laugh rolled in there. "hmm, i think the way you're admiring me right now is pretty award winning if you asked me. that expression is really selling that you're down bad, and that is exactly what we wanted, right?" she was suffering from mental whiplash at the way he'd said her name, thrown in with the petname and then a shortened version of her name which was actually quite cute, especially coming from his mouth. she had to mentally scold herself for feeling so helpless in the fact she felt memorised, so whatever he was doing was definitely believable. with the closer proximity she felt like she was holding her breath, just as his nose nudged against her own, their lips were an inch apart and she tilted her chin up a fraction as if to dare to dance over the thin line. "if you intend on throwing off this whole charade, you're going the right way about it because now i am trying not to hit you." she tried to keep a straight face for appearance measures but it was difficult when he was winding her up.
He clicked his tongue and shook his head, though the way his eyes stayed fixed on hers completely ruined the act. He leaned in again, deliberately invading her space. Not enough to make it uncomfortable, just enough to make it obvious. Just enough for anyone looking their way to absolutely hate it. Maddox could practically feel eyes on them from around the room. Good. Let them watch. Let them choke on it. When she threatened to hit him, Maddox pressed a hand dramatically against his chest. "Violence?" he gasped. "In front of all our adoring fans?" He glanced toward the room for half a second before returning his attention straight back to her. "That's cold." Then he dipped closer again, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Besides, if you hit me now, people might think we're having relationship problems." His eyes sparkled with mischief. "And we've worked way too hard to convince everybody I'm absolutely obsessed with you." The last part was delivered with such exaggerated sincerity that he had to fight back a laugh. Still, he held the look. Held her gaze. Committed completely to the bit. Without really thinking about it, or maybe thinking about it exactly enough, he reached up and hooked a finger beneath the strand. Carefully, he tucked it behind her ear. The gesture was effortless. Familiar looking. The kind of thing that would absolutely make anyone watching grind their teeth. His hand lingered for a second near her cheek before dropping away. "There," he murmured, looking entirely too pleased with himself. "Can't have anything blocking my view." The corner of his mouth twitched upward. "I mean, imagine spending all this time convincing everyone you're the prettiest girl in the room and then letting your hair get in the way of the evidence." He gave a small shake of his head, as though the idea itself was ridiculous. "Though if anyone asks, I want credit for making you smile. I've been putting in such a convincing performance over here."
Call Mateo the Grinch, cause listening to Callum speak he could feel his heart growing 3 sizes bigger. Seriously, he wasn’t sure what he’d do if he didn’t have his best friend in his life. “Maaaaan,” He let out a soft sigh. “You’re my person, full stop. Can’t live life without you, and wouldn’t want to either. How bad is it that you’re literally the first person I think of when anything happens, that I want to run to?” Mateo mused, spinning the bottle between his fingers. It was true, and hearing that Callum felt the same about him had his heart practically bursting. It felt nice to be appreciated by someone the same way, especially when your own girlfriend made life hell. He wasn’t sure at what point the other man had become his safe haven through everything life threw at him, but he had, without a doubt. A place he knew he could be himself, no judgement. An always among maybes. At the cheek kiss comment, Mateo let out a snort. “Let her, I’ll show her how she should kiss you.” He joked, before letting his head loll back a little. “We’re wanted men, it’s our lot in life. Which is why we’re forced to runaway from our executioners.” Mateo laughed. Holding his phone so Callum could look at the site as much as he wanted, a bright grin tugged at his lips at the approval. “Exactly. Pure, unadulterated freedom. I might even turn my phone off the whole weekend and just leave it in the car, let my inbox fill up I don’t care.” He sat up straighter, gazing at Callum with a mischievous smirk. “I just wanna relax and have fun with you. Cause fuc—has it been way too long since we’ve been able to let loose and have time to ourselves.” He ruffled the other man’s hair again, before he sipped at his beer. “Me too, Cal. I wanna see that joy come back in your face again while we watch the sunset together. Just like how it’s supposed to be, yea?” He set his bottle down so he could pull out his wallet and start booking the bungalow for their long weekend. “No drama. No girlfriends. Just us, sounds like heavenly to me.”
Callum's grin softened the longer Mateo spoke, the usual bright, easygoing energy in him settling into something warmer. Something that sat right behind his eyes. For a second, he just looked at him. "Nah, but seriously." Callum's voice dropped slightly. "Same." His smile turned smaller, more genuine. "Half the time I've already got our chat open before I've even figured out what I'm gonna say. to you" He nudged him again. "So congratulations. You're stuck with me. Sorry." At the comment about showing his girlfriend how she should kiss him, Callum's grin slowed. Not disappeared. Just softened into something a little more dangerous. A little more knowing. His eyes lifted to Mateo's and held there. "Oh, yeah?" The words came out quieter than before. He tipped his head slightly before giving him a lazy wink, followed by a low little mwah in his direction. "Keep saying things like that and I'll make you prove it." As Mateo talked about turning his phone off and disappearing for the weekend, Callum felt something in his chest loosen. He needed that. "No being in trouble. No explaining myself. No arguing. No wondering what mood someone's gonna be in when I walk through the door." Then he looked back at Mateo. "Just me and my favourite person." The words came naturally. Easy. Like they always did with him. When Mateo reached over and ruffled his hair, Callum made a half-hearted noise of protest that didn't match his reaction at all. Because instead of pulling away, his head tipped instinctively into the touch. Just slightly. Like his body had already decided it liked it before his pride could object. His eyes slipped shut for a brief second as Mateo's fingers dragged through his hair, a quiet smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Christ. You've got me trained." Watching the sunset together sounded like the perfect way to relax together. Callum's eyes dropped for a second before he reached over and squeezed the back of Mateo's neck affectionately. "You know," His voice was quieter. "I think it already comes back when I'm with you." A small smile pulled at his lips. "It just takes me a minute to remember it's still there." He moved to stand behind Mateo. His large hands landed on the other male's shoulders immediately. "Get it booked." He gave him a gentle shake. "Let's get outta here." His grin was audible in every word. "I'm way too excited." Callum rocked him back and forth ever so slightly. "Four whole days of just us."
“If you didn’t come looking for me after 24 hours of no contact, I’d be seriously concerned. Cause tragically? It’s the same for me, I die a bit inside if we go longer than that without speaking.” And he was serious about it too. Callum was a constant in his life that he’d be hard pressed to lose, so you can bet that 24 hours was even pushing it if he didn’t hear from him or reach out. “No kidding, plus she’s never been that great on vacations. You’re way more fun.” In more ways than one, but he figured that went without saying. The look of disgust had him practically howling in laughter, causing Mateo to place another, longer kiss on his cheek this time. “Geez, jealous much? She should know by now that you haven’t given another girl a second glance since y’all started dating.” He rolled his eyes, taking another swig from his beer. It was truly something how the two men had somehow both stumbled into relationships with seemingly the most jealous women in the world. Coincidence? Who knows. “See? I knew there was some reason we were best friends, same great taste in trips.” Mateo teased, nodding along as the other shaped their plan. He clinked his bottle against Callum’s in a toast of sorts, grinning. “We’ll get a taste of paradise before we come crashing back to reality.” He mused, pulling out his phone to start looking for places they could stay. “I’m thinking one of those resorts that have secluded bungalows all to themselves, I know they have a lakeside one.” He nodded, scrolling his phone until he found it. “This! Lakeside bungalow, hot tub with a view of the lake, all for us.”
Callum snorted, shaking his head as Mateo admitted he'd be concerned too. "Good. Glad we're on the same page." His shoulder bumped against Mateo's. "Dude, seriously." He looked at Mateo like the answer should've been obvious. "You're my go-to person. A whole day without speaking to you would suck." There was an easy honesty to it. No hesitation. No embarrassment. It was simply true. Whether something good happened, something bad happened, or he just had a dumb thought he needed to share, Mateo was usually the first person he wanted to talk to. The kind of person who slipped into every part of his life without him realising it. Constant. Familiar. Home, to a certain extent. At the comment about being more fun than Daisy, Callum nodded. He looked entirely too pleased with himself. "You get it." The extra kiss to his cheek earned another dramatic groan from out of him. "Keep kissing my cheek like that and my girlfriend might be on your case next," Callum warned, pointing his beer bottle at Mateo before breaking into a grin. "I wish somebody would explain that to her." He threw one hand into the air. "It was an old friend. We literally grew up together." Another shake of his head. "I answer one text and suddenly I'm standing trial." Callum looked personally offended by the injustice of it all. Thankfully the trip planning immediately improved his mood. His eyes dropped to Mateo's phone. The moment he saw the bungalow, he stood upright. "Oh, now we're talking." He pointed dramatically at the screen. "This is exactly what I'm talking about." His grin widened. "No girlfriends. No arguments. No getting accused of crimes we didn't commit." He looked over at his best friend. "Just me, you, a hot tub, a lake. A few days where nobody's mad at us. Nobody needs anything from us." He offered Mateo a small smile. "I just wanna see you happy again, man."
while the whole situation seemed slightly ridiculous to lennon, at the same time she couldn't deny that doing this was him was also amusing her in ways she hadn't expected. she'd never been anyones fake girlfriend before, and truthfully she didn't have a whole lot of experience in that department to start with. " oh it's that simple huh? " the brunette started, a light giggle bubbling in her throat. " a little pda and we'll have everyone fooled, can't believe i didn't think of that, romeo. " the playful sarcasm rolls off her lips, soon replaced with a smile as she eyes him from his spot against the wall. " it is, actually. but lucky for you i'm up for the challenge. "
Easton pressed a hand dramatically to his chest, like her sarcasm had struck him right through the heart. "Romeo?" he repeated, shaking his head with a grin. "Wow. I pour my heart out, present a flawless strategic plan, and suddenly I'm a terrible Shakespearen character." He let out a laugh, pushing himself off the wall. "And here I thought I was being subtle." The fact that she was actually going along with this made his smile widen. He pointed at her accusingly. "See? That's exactly the confidence I'm looking for. You're already selling it better than I am." His grin tugged wider as he pushed himself off the wall and stepped closer. "Come on." He held out his hand toward her. "Hold my hand. We might as well get the most awkward part out of the way now, and it's all uphill from there." Easton wiggled his fingers expectantly. "Think of it as exposure therapy. If we survive hand-holding, maybe we'll eventually graduate to matching eye contact and casual shoulder touches. Really advanced stuff."
“If Daisy had her way, she’d probably chain me up in the basement. Only let me out for work and parties.” Mateo joked with a scoff, though he was half serious. He knew the woman was possessive, he wasn’t sure to what lengths she’d go one day if she had the chance. He nodded at Callum’s question, his arm shifting to drape around the other’s neck. “Uh huh, who else d’ya think I’d bring with? Daisy?” He teased, placing a playful nipping kiss on the other’s temple. He moved away to grab another beer for himself and Callum as the other opened up, cracking his beer open before hopping onto the counter. “I’m sorry man, that’s not fun. How did we both manage to get into these relationships, huh?” He sighed, taking a swig from his beer. At the woof from his friend, a genuine laugh fell from his lips, and he reached over to ruffle Callum’s hair. “Your wish is my command. I’ll book us place after the party, we can leave tonight if you want.” Mateo held up one hand, the other making an x motion over his heart. “Cross my heart, no girlfriends. Just you and me, somewhere up in the mountains on a lake, maybe a hot tub. Think a weekend’s a enough? Or should we shoot for a week?” He mused, the idea of a vacation sounding far too good right then. He needed to get away from his girlfriend for a bit, before he completely lost his mind. And a weekend with Callum? That sounded like the perfect way to unwind and turn off the rest of the world for awhile.
"Dude, if I don't hear from you in a twenty-four hours period, I'm showing up at your house." He pointed his beer at him. "I'm serious. Twenty-four hours and I'm knocking on the door asking questions." The grin on his face made it clear he was joking. Mostly. "I can't go that long without talking to you, you dick." He grinned when Mateo slung an arm around his neck, leaning into it for a second before accepting the fresh beer. "Well, thank fuck you weren't bringing Daisy. Kinda defeats the purpose of no girls allowed, doesn't it?" The playful kiss to his temple earned a dramatic look of disgust, though the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth and roll of his eyes gave him away immediately. Callum took a long pull from his beer before shaking his head. "I genuinely don't know. My girl got pissed at me this week because I was texting another girl." He paused dramatically before holding up a finger. "An old friend." Another finger. "Who I've known longer than I've been with her." A third finger. "And the conversation was about how her family are doing." Callum huffed out a laugh. "Current status? Leashed." The second Mateo mentioned mountains, a lake, and a hot tub, Callum's entire expression brightened. "Oh, now you're speaking my language." He nudged Mateo's shoulder. "Long weekend. Leave tonight, come back Monday night." His grin widened. "Just enough time to disappear off the face of the earth, complain about our girlfriends, sit in a hot tub pretending we've got our lives together." He raised his beer toward Mateo. "You need it, I need it. We can come back and deal with all of this fucking relationship drama after we've spent three days pretending it and they don't exist." Callum clinked his bottle against Mateo's. "Book it. Before one of us gets grounded by our missus."

“I wish I was kidding.” Mateo let out a pained laugh, sounding more like a man shot than one at a party. He listened as Callum pleaded his case, clearly proving Matty’s own thoughts; he wasn’t crazy, he was just in a probably too toxic relationship or his girlfriend was crazy. Which, he already suspected but who was he to judge? But hearing his friend reassure him eased some of the stress he’d been feeling since the encounter, his shoulders visibly relaxing. “Yup, exactly. You’re looking at a hardened criminal, clearly. At this point, man, I need to start writing a list of everything I can’t do or say within five miles of her.” He joked, taking another sip of his beer before he set the bottle onto the counter. A laugh escaped him as he bumped Callum back, before he slung his arm across the other’s shoulders. “Oh you thought I meant I was going alone? Fuc’ no, I’ll probably have to drag you with me. It’ll be like a never ending vacation.” He teased with a wink, squeezing Callum’s shoulder affectionately. “I’m thinking we find a place on a lake, in the mountains … yea that’d be nice.” He mused, before shaking his head. “In the meantime, I’m definitely considering a vacation while Daisy is currently not speaking to me.”
"You liked an engagement post and now you're public enemy number one." He lifted his beer in a mock toast. "Shit. Lock him up, boys." The sarcasm was obvious, but so was the sympathy in his expression. The whole thing sounded ridiculous the more Mateo explained it. When Mateo threw an arm around his shoulders, Callum rolled his eyes. "Oh, so that's the plan? Just kidnap me and force me to go on vacation too?" He pretended to consider it for a second. "Hm. Could be worse." A grin pulled at his mouth as he glanced over at his friend. "Actually, a lake in the mountains sounds pretty damn good. No drama. No arguments. No people losing their minds over social media." Callum took another drink before exhaling through his nose. "Honestly? I might need that." His smile faded into something more knowing. "Things are a little rocky on my side lately as well too." He shook his head, looking down at the bottle in his hand. "Stephanie got pissed at me this week over something stupid too. Not as stupid as Daisy's reasoning , but stupid enough that I spent half the conversation wondering how the hell we even got there." A quiet laugh escaped him. "So yeah, a few days away from girlfriends and relationship problems is starting to sound less like a vacation and more like a need." He nudged Mateo with his shoulder. "Get me out of the dog house, bro." Then, without a shred of dignity, he let out a dramatic, "Woof." A laugh escaped him immediately afterward. He took another sip of his beer. Callum's eyes narrowed as if he were negotiating a life-changing contract. "Just one condition." He held up a finger. "No girlfriends allowed."
Tony downed his drink. "Doesn't matter... I just..." He fell off his chair and groaned. "Sir, you need to go home." The bartender sighed. "I had like one beer..." "Mister Olivares-Riley, you had 6 mojitos, 2 Cuba libres and one apple juice."
Asher rolled his eyes so hard it almost hurt. "One beer, my ass," he muttered, pushing himself off his stool. The bartender's deadpan expression told him everything he needed to know. With a sigh, Asher stepped over and grabbed Tony under the arm, hauling him back up before he could become one with the floor. "Come on, you absolute disaster." He steadied him, keeping a firm grip on his arm. "You didn't have one beer. You had enough alcohol to personally fund this bar for the night." His mouth twitched despite himself. "And somehow you still managed to sneak an apple juice in there too." Asher shot the bartender an apologetic look before turning back to Tony. "Right. You're done. Home."
Lorelai laughed as she leaned back in her seat, a bright grin spreading across her face while she adjusted the radio station. “I’ve saved up for these expensive cocktails. I am going to indulge and enjoy as much as I can,” she admitted dramatically, clearly proud of herself for surviving countless exhausting late-night shifts just to afford this trip with her best friend. She placed a hand over her heart in mock sincerity before glancing over with an amused sparkle in her eyes. “I even have a personal bodyguard this holiday. What more could I ask for?” she teased, laughing softly afterward. The excitement buzzing through her was impossible to miss, from the way she bounced slightly in her seat to the endless smile tugging at her lips. Lorelai turned the music up a little louder before looking over again with hopeful enthusiasm. “Can the pool be our first stop?” she asked immediately. “I want to tan.”
Cleo let out a laugh, shaking her head as she glanced over at Lorelai. "Right, because nothing says successful holiday quite like spending your entire savings account on cocktails with names you can't pronounce." She pointed a finger at her dramatically before settling back into her seat. "My qualifications include carrying bags, judging strangers from a distance, and holding your hair back if those expensive cocktails start fighting back." A grin tugged at her lips as she watched her friend's excitement practically radiate through the car. When Lorelai mentioned the pool, Cleo didn't even hesitate. "Absolutely. Pool first." She nodded firmly, as though it were a matter of national importance. "You go work on your tan, and I'll work on not looking like a drowned rat the second I get in the water." Cleo laughed. "Besides, if we're getting cocktails later, I need a few hours to mentally prepare for paying fifteen pounds for a drink that comes with a tiny umbrella."
this is now how she thought things were going to pan out today. she knew she would probably be at this party long enough to show her face, and make a point that she wasn't in her room feeling incredible sorry for herself and eating her weight in icecream. but he interaction with maddox was not something she had anticipated. although they were acting to a degree, she was very aware of the tension lingering in the air and it definitely had a way of distracting her from everything that was going on around her other than right infront of her. "little bit of roleplay." she baited his comment as her teeth skimmed over her lesser lip. the sensation of his hand cupping at her jaw sent an electric current through her entire body as her orbs bounced down to his lips and back up to his own lighter hues trying to remember to keep her focus on the mission at hand. "shouldn't you be the conveying the fact that you would worship every inch of my body if we were alone?"
Maddox's grin widened the second he caught her looking at his lips. There it was. The whole reason he'd agreed to play along in the first place. He tilted his head slightly, amusement dancing in his eyes as he kept his hand loosely against her jaw. "Oh, is that what we're doing still?" he asked, voice low. His thumb brushed lightly against her cheek before he rolled his eyes dramatically. "Oh, sweetheart," he drawled, shaking his head. "I'd do a lot more than just worship you, let's be honest." The corner of his mouth curled upward, completely entertained by the game they were playing. "You're setting the bar way too low." His gaze narrowed playfully. "And you've definitely never had a guy like me before, just saying." The confidence in his voice was almost obnoxious. "I mean, if we're committing to the performance, at least make it believable." He leaned forwards to nudge his nose gently against hers, a playful gesture that only made his grin grow. "Though I have to admit, you're getting suspiciously invested in this fake bit, Dix. I'm starting to think you're enjoying this as much as I am."
"--- And you won't know until you actually face them."Enzo said, not really knowing what else to say. It was a complicated situation, and he knew he couldn't make the other face his parents if his fear was too much, but he also didn't know how long he could do things this way anymore as he felt as he was at the ends of his strength. "It doesn't sound stupid, no - if anyone understands, it's me. I've been there, in your position. And I wish I could... Encourage you enough to actually do it. But I'm afraid whatever I say might sound like I'm putting an ultimatum, and that's not what I want."Enzo huffed and looked at Isaiah once his hand was on his face, making him look at him. His words stung him, as Enzo didn't want it, either, he didn't want to imagine his life without his lover, but he also said what he said earlier very sane and firm - he'd rather suffer than stay hidden again. He kept quiet, but enjoyed the closeness of the other, the way their foreheads pressed against one another and Enzo closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath. "Fear has taken so much from you already and it pains me to see. I know you love me, as much as I love you. Please, don't get me wrong, it's not my intention to hurt you with my words or make you do something you don't want to - but I also have to think about myself."he mused and let his hand land on Isaiah's shoulder, giving it a squeeze and rubbing it affectionately.
Isaiah swallowed hard, his chest tightening with every word Enzo spoke. He understood. That was the problem. His eyes dropped for a moment before he reached for Enzo's hands, threading their fingers together and giving them a firm squeeze, as though he needed the contact to keep himself grounded. "I know," he said quietly. "I know you have to think about yourself." His thumb brushed over Enzo's knuckles. "And you should, that's all I as your boyfriend, could want." Isaiah shook his head slightly. "I don't want you suffering either, Enzo. I don't." His voice cracked a little at the edges. "The last thing I ever wanted was for loving me to become something that hurts you." His grip tightened. "You deserve better than being hidden away. You deserve to be loved properly." For a moment he simply looked at him, taking in the familiar face he couldn't imagine losing. The thought alone made his stomach twist. He let out a shaky breath. Isaiah's eyes searched Enzo's. Then, after a long pause, he squeezed his hands again. "Will you come with me?" The question came out quiet but certain. "When I tell them." His throat felt tight. "I don't think I can do it by myself." A small, nervous laugh escaped him. "I'll probably spend the entire time looking at you instead of them, but," He shook his head. "I want you there." His thumb traced nervously over Enzo's knuckles. "I," He swallowed hard. "I know it's asking a lot." Then his eyes dropped briefly before finding Enzo's once more. "Please?"
