I ask nicely, but that doesn’t mean I’m inclined to let them run themselves dry, so I’m willing to help you on this hunting and gathering mission you seem set on, with that glimmer in your eye. Safety in numbers after all. The noises, and the boisterous people, and the liberty is all easy to make room for , its the emotions that are overstimulating.

Not these witches, and not without thanks. It was Lina and Wren who unearthed me and unstaked me after being underground and inside a coffin for four hundred years. The least I can do is guarantee them the safety of my company. Besides, they have both been... Patient. This new century is confusing and overwhelming at times. Its nice not to navigate it alone.

From what I understand there should be no deciding vote in the first place. I’m no political leader, but this house could use more than two freshly turned vampires, one of which is a witch, as far as strategies go. We are practically bullet proof, unless of course, they’re the ones seeking to shoot themselves on the foot.

If the deal was being honored outright, a vote wouldn’t be necessary or possible. I already offered to handle it. You only have one human left, and you should keep your werewolves in fighting shape until we’re certain Gideon isn’t coming to investigate why half of his line was slaughtered. Get more humans. Robbing a blood bank is possible and not all that hard given powers of compulsion - Cristiana hates to use hers, so it’s a tossup if she would agree to help on that front or not. But that’s only a temporary solution. Clearly you weren’t opposed to dedicated living donors in the past.

If there’s an issue with the blood supply, I have no moral qualms against compelling unsuspecting humans. I’d be willing to lend a hand.

Me and Thomas and the witch Nicholaus sired on his way out. A woman named Noah. Along with a young girl, hybrid – Alex. Thomas sired her by mistake. He was giving her blood to heal a wolf bite. The vampire populous has become much less traditional and much more rag tag recently.

A... hybrid? So she’s a werewolf and a vampire? How is that possible, if werewolves are supposed to be the anti-thesis to our very existence?

Nicholaus led his family here to get back the magic they lost but his sadism got the best of him – as it often does. And the witches and I allied to take him and his lineage out. Except for Thomas, his childe that we shared.

And they got themselves killed in the process? Perfect. Gideon always had a talent for siring psychotic vampires. Men and their pursuit for power always leads to their untimely deaths fortunately. I’m glad you were smart enough to find a way to escape him before it was too late. Are there any other vampires in the house aside from you and Thomas?

There isn’t much to say. Lina’s an original witch who found me buried in a coffin in Mexico hundreds of feet underground with a stake through my heart. Centuries passed above me in vague consciousness until they unearthed me, fed me, and took me with them. Her and Wren, who I believe talks to spirits. Or anyone in the plane between the living and the dead, which is how they found me. Lina’s... I don’t think I know the word for it, but my mother would’ve thought her the next coming of Jesus four hundred years ago if she’d known that woman could turn water into wine.

Horrifying would’ve been staying there for the rest of eternity. Or being dug up by someone else entirely. Its... difficult to explain. You’re aware that there’s a stake in your chest, but you can’t move, you can’t scream, you can’t do anything but sit still and try not to go crazy with your own thoughts. Without blood pumping through the heart I suppose we mummify, I think that’s what Lina called it.

Oh, that age. I’m not... sure. Somewhere around 450? A little over. I could’ve give you an exact age even if I wanted to.

No. I believe the term used nowadays is girlfriend. I was his girlfriend. For about ten years while I was human and fifty more after he turned me. And then I left him. He had gone mad way before I decided to leave, but that does sound like him, staking a claim and trying to ruin another pretty, young girl’s life.
