I forgot to mention that I have finished my graduation film on time for the deadline which was amazing! I have to thank to everyone who made this film possible by providing me with the materials and supporting my animation.

I would also like to give a special thanks to all the people that assisted me with the (very long) colouring process and to my tutors and classmates for their support and feedback :) Thank you everyone!!

I have finally finished painting my entire animation. Couldn't be any happier! thank you to everyone who took a little moment of their day to help me out!

Hi! This week I was very lucky to get some help with the colouring process from some lovely students from the first year and from a few of my super awesome friends :) the official shooting process will start tomorrow and the colouring should be finished by the end of the week! So if everything goes according to plan then next week I'll post a little preview of NIGHT NIGHT! PS: I have been filming myself while painting in the studio just to show the colouring process and just to have a little bit of fun while watching my "animation pile" diminishing :D promise to post it soon!

Hi! Last week I finally started painting my cells. To do so I am using acrylic paint and limiting my colour scheme to black and white. Here you can see my lovely "office" where I keep my "animation pile" and where I will eventually set up a multi plane to shoot my film. For now and potentially until next week I'll just keep on painting my frames and cross my fingers hoping that I will manage to finish on time for the crit! Thank goodness I have some very good friends who came round to paint some frames :) I even managed to charm some students from the first year to help me out ihih! thank you guys and wish me luck!!

At last my animation is complete! Which now leaves me with the arduous and meticulous stage of painting every frame… ONE BY ONE!! It’s just around 2000 sheets of cell to colour in… :D fun times!!!

Animatic is essentially a video where you shoot your storyboard pictures and make it into a video. Its basically a guide for the animator to know the correct time of each scene/shot and combine it with sound effects and dialogue to bring it to life. This is my animatic so far. I filmed two lovely little actors (Olive and Joel) to use as reference in order to achieve a more realistic look and movement.

Here is my initial line test. Technique wise I wanted to achieve a traditional look, so I opted to animate just like the old Disney days. I am drawing on animation celluloid and then painting with the acrylic paint on the back of the sheet, and then shoot it on a multiplane to combine the characters with the background and create a sense of depth..Just like Snow White 's production.

The first thing we learn in animation is to keep a record of everything. So once we build a solid story we then move on to what we call the "Production Bible", which involves, synopsis, scripts, character profiles, style frames, backgrounds, technique, mood board, storyboard and schedule.

Once I finally came up with a story, I started sketching my characters, SOPHIE and BOBBY. These are some of the initial drawings.

My idea started when I was drawing people at tube stations… I realised that although I wasn’t sure about the story yet, style wise I wanted my characters to look quite realistic.
