Red Sweater
Cable Knit Gloves
Developing a new obsession with cabling. This is my first complete cable project, expect many more in a similar vein.
Nessie
Yet another sea creature, this time of the mythical variety. I just can’t get enough of these patterns from Hansi Singh.
Knitted Cuttlefish
Another amazing knitting pattern from Hansi Singh. This time a knitted cuttlefish, because why not?
Nancy the Nautilidae
In case you were wondering what a Nautilidae looks like in knitted form, look no further.
Sara and James
Another foray into the world of embroidery. This time a present for two dear friends who got married last year.
Spring/Summer Cardigan
Let’s face it, it never really is summer here in the UK. When it is here, it is only fleeting so always wise to have a cardi close to hand. So here is another one to add to the growing collection!
Sky Blanket - June
Round up of the weather back in June 2016
Stitched Letter
Been branching out more and more into embroidery lately and I decided to combine it with another hobby of mine, letter writing, for the ultimate in slow communication.
Pot Holders
Just a lil’ something I whipped up with some left over yarn.
Mathematical Knitting
Been a while. Mainly because I have had a self imposted embargo on buying yarn until I completed a project I started back in March 2015. 1 and half years later, I have finally finished it!
May
Month 3 of knitting the sky each day. Pretty cloudy, quite variable and lots of rain. Not looking that dissimilar to March!
Crochet eggs with faces. Obviously.
April
So a lot more blue this month. A bit of grey here and there, plenty of fluffy white clouds and 6 full days of solid blue sky - basically because I went to Bahrain for just shy of a week at the end of April. So this month isn’t entirely representative of UK weather in April. Stay tuned for more updates about the world’s slowest weather report.
March
One month down and March is complete and here is a round up of the last months weather in wool form. Started off a little stormy, with a day of snow (that’s the all white line). Only 3 days in total where there were no clouds in the sky and the band of dark grey at the top is Storm Katie that hit the UK last week. Now on to April, here is to hoping it includes slightly more blue and a little less grey.
Excuse me while I knit the sky...
Inspired by this amazing blog, I am starting a new knitting challenge with my long time knitting comrade Alexia where each day for the next year we will knit the colour of the sky.
We each have 5 different colours to choose from (dark grey, light grey, light blue, blue and white) and each day we will pick two colours that best represent the weather that day and proceed to knit two rows with them. The final result will be 12 squares which document month by month the weather! Alexia lives in Italy, so I suspect her squares will have a lot more blue in them, whereas my final product might be the stark reminder about how crap the UK weather is. Stay tuned to see how I get on!
