Kiri Te Kanawa among new stars to join Downton cast
In honor of Richard Strauss's birthday week/month, here's a throwback video from my Sophomore recital singing Allerseelen by Strauss accompanied by the fabulous Eric Sedgwick.
A sneak peek at the cover art of Anna's new Verdi album, coming this August on Deutsche Grammophon! So excited!!! One of my favorite composers and one of my favorite singers. Love, love, love !
So, the amazing-legendary and fabulous Dame Kiri te Kanawa has caused some stir in the opera world by saying that "Opera singers need a bit of beef" in order to preform well. I want to know your opinions !!!!!
La Divina !
Here is a picture of my best friend Megan and I after we sang the benefit recital !
Here is a picture of me singing "Meine Lippen sie Küssen so Heiss" !
I just came back from California ! Here's a photo of my friends and I on our last day there. I preformed a benefit recital for Pancreatic Cancer with my best friend Megan and raised 20,000 dollars ! So proud !!! I will post some pics of the even later !
IM BACCCCKKKK
Hi Guys! ,
I know I've been away for a while but im BACCCKKKK. Posts coming soon =)
The Met is getting ready for their Summer HD Series and I am so happy to be a part of it. As a Metropolitan Opera Student Ambassador I get to be behind the scenes and help put this together ! Super excited !
I know I have posted this before but, I love this song and this performance . (This is my sophomore recital at Manhattan School of Music)
I'm Back !!!
I know I haven't been on here in a while . Well, thats because I was super busy this summer ! I went to the CHautauqua Music festival and sang in Der Rosenkavalier and L'Elisir D'amore! It was amazing ! I also did master classes and recitals ! It was an amazing summer ! I'm very content on how it went and am looking forward to this new school year ! I"M BACK EVERYONE !!!
Mozart’s Don Giovanni at our national opera
hahahahahah
But so true! Barihunks rule the world.
This is funny !
Living in NYC has its perks , especially for classical singers... we have the Metropolitan Opera around the corner. So, I as a New Yorker attend at least one opera a week at the Met (through student tickets of course !) But, Never have I Ever experienced anything like this at the Met. The Aida production is larger than life. Words cannot explain how in awe i was when the set of the second act came out. The parade in the second act was AMAZING. There were horses, carriages, many dancers and much more. I definitely want to see it again. Not only was the set OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! but Stephanie Blythe - as always was AMAZING. Her voice is so warm and heavy and huge. When i say its huge i mean..... its HUGE. She sang over the entire orchestra, the HUMUNGOUS chorus, the Soprano, Baritone, the Tenor and all we heard was her... AMAZING for anyone especially a mezzo to be heard. Marcelo Alvarez ... who is not one of my favorite tenors... until this day. He was absolutely amazing, his high notes floated in the theatre and his acting was impeccable. Lori Ghilbeau ( who i know personally and went to my school MSM) had an off stage role but i must say that she sounded AMAZING. I wish she would have been AIDA because Violetta Urmana did not do a good job being AIda or singing Aida. She was pitchy and at times her notes felt strenuous. But, other than that i cant even fathom the amazingness of this production and i cant wait to see it again. I know this set has been around for a while and i hope it stays around for many more years to come!
The Princess of opera, and the Princess of Monaco….
Maria Callas & Grace Kelly
This is a beautiful photo !

I thought this was hilarious =)
