Far from here there lies an island called Ogygia. The daughter of Atlas has her home there, Calypso, a goddess of awesome power and many wiles. She is seldom visited, whether by mortals or by immortals.
“I swear I’m listening to you, but that woman over there has a condom stuck to her leggings and I don’t know if I should let her know or just wait for the inevitable. She’s been super harsh to the bar staff so it kind of feels like karma come to play, you know?”
Adrian sized the woman up, not bothering to hide his judgment. She looked tiny, but he knew plenty of women who were small and could still pack a punch. “What do you need to fight for?” It didn’t really matter. Despite his sour attitude, he liked teaching people. It thrilled him to see them progress due to what he was telling them. “Self defense or are you trying to take some bitch who slept with your man down?”
"Well, that’s all sorts of my business and none of yours.” It had long since been in her nature to keep an arm’s length distance and the former Olympian certainly made that easier with his cold demeanor. At his question, she chuckled softly with slight bitterness before quirking a brow. “There seems to be an implication that I wouldn’t just take my man down.” A moment’s pause. “Self defense. Are you in or are you out?”
As soon as things from the earthquake settled down Peyton had hopped on a plane. She needed a week of relaxation away from everything, so she made her way to St. Barts for just that. A week of great shopping and even better food had refreshed her in just the way that she had hoped. Of course she couldn’t stay away from LA from long so she was back home now, carrying a few shopping bags as she waited for her uber to arrive and take her back to her place. At the sight of someone familiar she lowered her eyes to her phone, avoiding everyone as best as she could.
"Well hello, Stranger.” Peyton’s aversion to social niceties never really deterred her, she had long ago come to accept their mutual affinity for isolation. “I see St. Bart’s was kind to you. Did I mention how unbelievably jealous I am?” Not that Caroline couldn’t afford to take her own luxury vacation, but rather it was her friend’s relaxed state which drew envy from the blonde. “My driver’s around the corner if you don’t want to wait, you know.”
“Oops, empty again,” Madden grinned, an air of faux-innocence about her. She looked at the person closest to her, wondering if she looked as buzzed as she felt. “Whose turn is it this time? Mine or yours? Wait wait, I did buy the last round. It’s totally your turn.”
"If I didn’t know better, I would guess you were part fish in your... past life.” A wry smile tugged at crimson painted lips before she waved the bartender down. “What did you want this time? More of the same? You do realize you’re liable to take me out of here on a stretcher if we keep this up.”
“What?” It was just one word, but really, it was a loaded question. Adrian bit his lower lip out of frustration as he walked into the room, his patience already running low after a long day. “If you’re just going to hassle me, I’ll leave. I’m not in the mood for it.”
"I don’t make a habit of hassling people for no reason,” she emerged from behind one of the hanging sand bags, the dismissal of her bodyguard given with a polite smile. “This will only take a minute. I’m sure you can spare at least that.” Hues danced around the expensive gym for a moment before she continued. “I need someone to teach me how to fight. Basics, of course. I’m not asking to be a martial art expert overnight.”

THE MYTH
Calypso is the daughter of the legendary titan Atlas and the records of who her mother might have been are murky at best, which tells us that perhaps she never knew a maternal figure in her immortal life. It certainly explains why she remained loyal to her father in the first Titan war, even to the point of accepting banishment for her part in supporting him. She is considered to be a minor goddess, completely forgotten on her island of Ogygia until unwilling suitors wash up on its shores. Her loneliness is paramount in the stories, especially in how she clung to the briefest flirtations and fell in love rather quickly because she was ravenous for any scrap of affection.
She embodies the virgin/whore dichotomy; a goddess who seeks to lure Odysseus away from his wife to spend eternity as her own bedmate, yet ultimately decides to heal the man and reluctantly send him away once requested. Though when Hermes comes to tell her to let Odysseus go on Zeus’ command, she remarks how unfair the double standard is that a human lover be ripped from her grasp when the male gods lie with mortals all the time. Calypso reveals sporadically that she headstrong and clever, albeit not quite vocal enough to stand her ground against those with whom she actually holds contempt.
Raised in the Hidden Hills with a distant father whom she solely interacts with on a monetary basis and a mother who is deceased in every reincarnation that Kronos has blessed her with thus far.
Lives alone in the penthouse of Neptune Grand much like she did on her luxurious, desolate island once upon a time.
She only keeps people around as a temporary void in this life to battle against her eternal loneliness, not quite trusting or naïve enough to take a second chance on love or friendship after being so thoroughly burned in her past life.
The diluted powers in her possession: powers of seduction. Her unparalleled talent at drawing even the most steadfastly committed person away from their relationship has been more than useful in the past when a member of Olympia grew too close to their beloved. She also claims the usual healing powers, which are less potent now and limited to minor injuries and breaks, but enough to undo at least some of the trauma inflicted upon people physically.
She is aligned with Kronos due to the Olympia’s treatment of her and cruel punishments, but her heart has softened enough that she secretly made the jump to Gaia’s team.
