The sound of your laugh
haunts my mind as I lay in bed
fighting to keep my head from
spiraling further down the drain again.
What I would give, what I would trade
to hear you laugh for the rest of my life.
I grew up wondering, questioning.
What does happiness feel like?
And now I look back at my life in three second clips
realizing that sound, that smile,
the way the light in your eyes glistened as they froze time.
You were happiness.
I was the shades of grey.
