“Sometimes I don’t recognize myself when I look in the mirror.” Teddy almost never broke down, she loved herself and her abilities, but when she did she was usually alone. Right now she wasn’t though and she couldn’t keep it in. “I don’t even know what I originally looked like.”
❛ i recognize you. even with a different face. ❜
these were things she thought of often --- questions of beauty, the inward versus the outward self, their purpose and importance and permanence. she didn’t know what it was like for teddy, but she understood being trapped and defined by a body. weren’t they all, in a way? and weren’t they all truly so much more?
❛ you’re who you are on the inside, no matter what. even if we all went blind or--- or turned into beings of pure energy --- i’d still know you. you’d still be the same, funny and smart and kind and amazing. ❜
