"Hey," Taci gave him a genuine smile as she approached, her eyes scanning the area around him. "You really mean business, huh? Didn’t know you were so serious about this tutoring thing." She flopped down next to him with a grunt before setting her books in front of her. Leaning back on her hands, she half-rested her head on Carson’s shoulder, just out of habit and without fully realizing what she was doing.
"Well, I can't have you flunking out, can I?" Carson chuckled as she entered the room. "If you flunk out, you'll never get out of this shithole, and then I'd feel guilty for not tutoring you properly." He looked back down at the math book in front of him as she sat down, waiting for her to grab her own book so that they could begin. Carson was surprised when he felt her head resting on her shoulder, and looked quickly over at him. He figured that he had some kind of goofy expression on his face, though he was trying to ignore how he made her feel. Clearing his throat, he looked back at the books. "So, uh, math."
