“No. They rant on and on about why whatever I did was wrong but really I just zone out at this point.”
“That’s funny... That’s funny. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever been told you did?”

“No. They rant on and on about why whatever I did was wrong but really I just zone out at this point.”
“That’s funny... That’s funny. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever been told you did?”
“Well, yea. Except for the ‘sorry’ part. That’s more of a thing people say I should say.”
“Either way, I’m sure braiding a person’s hair isn’t exactly criminal, is it?”
“I don’t think so… Hi…” he said, shaking his head.
“Do you need to get away? It’s busy here,” he mumbled, nodding to one of the empty work rooms.

The young man lowered his head, coming away from the young man and closer to the wall, his hand brushing across it. “Nothing, nothing, I’m just—I’m trying to, I want to go to my room, that’s all I meant no harm. I swear to you, sir.” He lifted his head, his eyes bright and doe like. “Y-Yes, sir, sorry, sir. I’m so sorry. Please don’t be mad.”
Carson shook his head before snapping up to look at the other man. Boy. At him. At-- “What’s your name?” he found himself asking before he could stop himself, shutting his mouth immediately afterwards if only in shock. “Don’t,” the man said sharply, blue eyes flitting between the floor and the younger’s face. “Don’t call me that. I’m not mad; don’t call me that. Carson. My name.”

Happy fucking new year.
My New Year’s Resulutions:
1. For the group to be a little bit smaller so it isn’t harder to talk.
2. Everything to be quiet after bedtime so I can sleep.
3. Everything to be quiet in the daytime so I can sleep.
4. Doctors to let me have quiet time when my head makes the noise.
5. To be the one awake on Christmas and also have presents.

Alec didn’t realize that the guy was coming towards him until he was only a few yards away and he caught glimpse of his eye contact. He didn’t know what to say, so he just stood there awkwardly, unsure of what he wanted.
“Um.” Carson started awkwardly. Comfort zones, he thought. Pushing boundaries. “You’re Alec. And I’m Carson. Today. Um.” He scratched the back of his neck. “I don’t know if I’ve ever said hi.”
“I’m real sorry, I didn’t see you there, I didn’t mean to–to bump into you, are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?”
“Wh-what are you doing? Why--” Carson took a deep breath like they told him to, eyes wide open and mouth shut tight. “N-no. No, I’m fine. Watch where you’re walking.”
“Okay but you can’t tell me that nurse’s hair didn’t look better braided. All I needed was one look at her long ass hair and it was screaming at me to be braided. …sorry?”
“... You really mean all of that.”
Alec pulls his hood up as he saw a bunch of people walking this way. Maybe if he didn’t look at anyone, he would be invisible.
Carson was content to shuffle by behind the group happening to walk towards his hall until he caught sigh of Alec walking in the opposite direction. When he took a moment to think about it, he hung back, realizing that perhaps it was time. That time of year again and all that, and it had certainly been long enough.time knowing of him. He stopped to stand still, and waited for the crowd to disperse, watching across the hall, waiting to move until it seemed quiet enough. He walked slowly, trying to make eye contact beforehand and allow them both time to walk away.
“I don’t see a reason why not, as long as you can be good on the way there.”
“Oh, okay! Did we meet before?”
“I hate cookies.”
“You... hate cookies?”
“But…I…There was an add saying you did.”
“Nope.”
“And same to you Mr. Riggs, and only because you’ve been so positively wonderful I’ll grab you a glass. Seems a bit better than bothering the kitchen staff at this time.”
“Thank you! Can I come? I never went to the kitchen before.”
“Oh.”
“It’s not that bad. They have cookies sometimes. And stories. And crayons and art stuff.”
“Fair enough. What she like?”
“Annoying.”
