Carter slid the plate closer, signing quickly âI say one time that prunes donât belong in cakes and now Iâm a food critic.âÂ
Taking a bite of the cake, he chewed slowly, drawing it out to annoy her. It wasnât bad. Not his favorite and he signed to her as much. âI can see it selling well. The raspberries are really tart. I like the crunch.â
âIâll agree with you about the prunes,â Maggie admitted with a laugh. She watched his face as he ate it, reading his expression. âYou can see it selling, but youâre not a big fan,â she replied, âwhatâs not working for you?â
âRaspberries have never been my favorite. Iâm a strawberry guy.â He replied, taking another, larger, bite. âBut cake is cake.â
