Sadie let her eyes rest on her husband who was walking in her direction. Once she noticed his pace quicken, her feet moved quickly too. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself as close as she could to him, wondering how the hell she had gone this long without being in his arms because she couldn’t even remember why she had been angry in the first place. She inhaled, putting her face in his shoulder, breathing him in for a second. She closed her eyes when the words left his lips, her nose brushing against the skin on the side of his neck. “I missed you too,” she said softly, after a few seconds, realizing where she had been standing. She pulled back, pressing her lips together. “Ready?”
As much as Carter didn’t want to let go of his wife, he knew that he had to sooner than later as they were about to go find out the gender of their Strawberry. Honestly, he still couldn’t believe that they were having a baby...he needed to stop being so damn scared. The feeling of her nose on the side of his neck only made him pull her closer, but he eventually let her slip from his arms and nodded. “I’m just as ready as you are,” he replied with a hopeful and warmer smile, happy to be back in her presence again. Taking her hand in his, he lead her inside the room and helped get her on the table. Once he sat down in the seat beside her bed waiting for the person to come in with the ultrasound machine, he took a deep breath in and out slowly. “You still think it’s going to be a girl?” He asked, reaching up to take her hand in his again, giving it a gentle squeeze.
