This is a repost of my post from January 14, 2015. I GIFed it to sync with the music. (Compare the post ID#s if you wish.)

I’ve kept quiet, lest I be known as some sort of Internet grouch. But in reality, it irks me every time I see another repost cross back over my Tumblr dash, which makes me regret posting the darn thing in the first place.

I don’t understand. This post right here that I’m finally replying to was reuploaded almost immediately after I posted it, the first time it started going around anyone’s dashes, so I know it wasn’t some accident over a long lost ancient meme. It was just a matter of clicking the reblog button with all the source info neatly laid out, instead of downloading and then reuploading the same exact gif and song. Now it’s become that much harder for anyone else to find the source info because it was stripped of it so early and then sent around the fandom. People asked questions like, “Why is [character]’s head jerking like that?” because they didn’t see the original video outside this snippet.

I’ve had this before a few times. You may have to download the latest driver from the tablet’s website. If you already have then you may have to reinstall. At least that’s what solved my problem.

Tablet Driver Not Found (Solution: Restart Tablet Service) 

The Wacom driver randomly going MIA is a really common and annoying problem. But, assuming it works fine any other time or after a reboot, you shouldn't need to update or reinstall anything...or even reboot. You just need to restart the driver.

See http://philwinkel.com/2014/02/01/wacom-tablet-driver-was-not-found-or-stops-working/ for a nice guide on how to kick it into working again and get back to drawing (works with Win 7 & 8). You can also download a little script from there to do it for you.

(Because, hey, it gets annoying having to do this every time your tablet driver decides to take a vacation. I’ve had to do this so many times, I made a desktop shortcut to the Services menu from the Control Panel before learning you can get to it from the Task Manager too.)

Melee Marth armor (July 2015)

I finally made armor for Marth...8 years after I originally made the costume!

I also made a (cruddy, rambling) writeup with some tips on EVA foam (basically “for noobs, by a noob”) on my new Facebook fanpage.

Background:  

In 2007, I was supposed to make armor out of Sintra with the help of a friend, but things fell through. I was unsure how to do it myself or where to find the material (and also got lazy), so I went without armor for years. 

Finally, when I was thinking about making armor out of something else, I bumped into lionfirethepatient of squidbotcosplay, who had really nice armor made from thick EVA foam, at the Katsucon ‘15 Fire Emblem shoots. I did some research and decided it was the perfect material for me to work with, and I completed the bulk of it in a week!

Here's a slice of my actual life.

Recently it was my younger brother's birthday, and my mom picked up a cake from a fancy bakery. When we started eating it, Dad asked, "Is this rumcake?" right as I started detecting an extra flavor. As Mom tried thinking back and saying that might be right, we looked at each other, and then Dad started singing "YO HO HO AND A CAKE FULL O' RUM"
