Book Thump || Open
The moment Elyon’s concentration had been broken the number of floating books that had surrounded her had begun falling to the floor one-by-one. Each sound of a dropped book made the blonde cringe, she knew that she had managed to make an outright mess where there hadn’t been before.
“I’m really so so sorry! My magic does that when I’m in deep focus…” Elyon tried to explain feeling very embarrassed that she had whacked a professor.
And made a mess. The librarian was going to kill her!
She was red in the face.
“I should really know this by now… and oh no, no that’s okay I can’t possibly ask for help after whacking you. You’re okay, right?”
Yes, she had to make sure to ask because a book wasn’t a soft object, she had to imagine getting hit by one would hurt.
Of course, Elyon wouldn’t be Elyon if she didn’t hop from one topic and then back to the other all in one conversation.
“And my searching is pretty much done anyways. If anything what I should do right now is start cleaning.” Gareth could always go fall off a roof somewhere.
The poor thing looked like she was about to slip through the floor in horrified embarrassment, and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Really, I’m fine,” he reassured calmly. “Didn’t even leave a mark.” Not that Goliath could check, sleeves being A Thing and all, but his skin was stone. One book wasn’t going to crack him.
“Here, just put them on my cart and I can get them put away,” Goliath instructed, kneeling down to pick up a few of the closer books. “Together we can get these books shelved quicker and you can go back to your research.”
He hummed curiously as he looked over a few of the titles. “Are these for a summer course?” he asked. She didn’t look like one of his summer students, but he’d been a little distracted since the summer started with the approach of the birth of his grandchildren. Thank the winds it was an easy course, both for the students and for him.
