Is studying meant to contain this much crying on day 2 or is this just my depression?
My favourite moment 😮💨
HEY-
What if I told y’all that these two Doctors
Are more similar than these two Doctors
And I’m tired of pretending they’re not.
Nine was in so much pain, as is Fifteen- but both hid it behind blinding smiles. Throwing themselves in situation after situation, gotta keep moving, keep smiling… So much to see- so little time- or so they’d have you believe. Gotta keep moving. Passing thru. Helping out. Use the wrong verbs, kiss strangers… know the value of a good leather jacket.
They’re both just looking to be happy. To feel something other than all engulfing darkness. They both find the light in a brilliant, vibrant 19 year old blonde- though one relationship is romantic the other platonic.
Fourteen could only be more different from Ten by having a different face. He’s so broken and soft and outwardly affectionate and vocal about his feelings-
Ten was angry and cold and vindictive…
Fourteen is tired. Tired of pretending to be strong. Tired of the pain. He just wants to go home.
penelope is stronger than colin because she was able to hold all that ache in for years, meanwhile colin pined for her for weeks and was already so alcoholic and lonely and on the brink of just fully falling apart. she really might have fallen first, but boy did he fall harder. never change colin bridgerton
David Tennant pissing off the Prime Minister bc he told government officials to stfu over their anti-trans bigotry and Michael Sheen literally poisoning himself investigating corporations dumping toxic chemicals in underprivileged areas is NOT the energy I expected from 2024 but oh man am I here for it.
Any one of these on its own could have been a coincidence, but all of them together definitely seem like some kind of game they're playing with the audience.
well I think I speak for everyone when I say. wholeheartedly.
who the fuck is mrs flood
Dumbledore was clever, cunning, and magically powerful. If he wanted real power, he could have quite quickly brought the wizarding world to its knees. Actually, he feared power and deliberately limited himself from it and tried not to get involved in the most political decisions because he knew he had a visionary side that could make him start deciding people's fates "for the greater good." He knew he could make mistakes. That's why all his positions were not really about power but were more like representative and guarantor roles, where there were many other decision-makers, and his power could be limited by others — from headmaster (from which he was disgracefully kicked out) to the position in the useless magical version of the UN.
Dumbledore didn't seek power, he feared it. That's why he avoided making some decisions and increasing his power even when he could and should have done so (like taking the post of Minister).
At first Harry thinks Dumbledore is almost like a god, but then he realizes that Dumbledore actually has no real power, makes mistakes, and is just an ordinary person with his own flaws, who has been fighting his inner demons all his life and can't forgive himself for a mistake he made in his youth.
Dumbledore is actually a deeply traumatised character who is often afraid to make decisions and avoids doing things because he believes his actions sometimes don't lead to good outcomes. He avoids action even when it's really needed, doing the bare minimum.
He is very distant, closed off, and I think quite an unhappy person. I can almost see the pain Dumbledore went through with the whole Harry situation, but it was a difficult decision that only he could make, and he actually hates himself for it, which is why he distances himself from Harry as much as possible (I don't think it's the right decision. I see it as Dumbledore's weakness.) Dumbledore's death isn't a sad event for him, it's the release he had been waiting for a long time.
This is such a simple idea that I really don't understand how people see him as a character who fought Voldemort just to keep his kinda pathetic power.
something about Rogue has truly grabbed me by the throat.
When Rose and Clara found out the Doctor could completely change their face, they got scared ("I keep forgetting he's not...human." "How do we change him back?"). When Rogue saw, his only reaction was complete and utterly besotted awe.
When they danced together, he placed his hand on his chest, feeling both hearts, and loved it so much he did it again as they kissed.
When Fifteen started planning the Chuldur's suffering, Rogue saw the fury of The Timelord and wasn't afraid of him. Only afraid for him.
When he sacrificed himself for Ruby, his only words were "Find me". He didn't doubt for a second that The Doctor would do whatever it takes to get him back.
And I think what it is is that Rogue loves The Doctor. Not just attracted to him, as so many have been. Because there's a reason why so many have been in the past. People like Madam De Pompadour, and Queen Elizabeth I, are attracted to the mystery of The Doctor, to how strange yet charming they are. They fall in love with the mask they put up.
But Rogue, he's not like that. He may have been attracted to the mask initially, but what won him over was the truth. In an episode all about cosplay, dressing up, and pretending, he can't improvise to save his life.
He saw past the easy smile, the joking exterior. He saw this broken, grieving, ancient alien, and said, "I love every part of him. and I'll wait for him. No matter how long it takes."
And, for a relationship played by two queer actors, written by potentially two queer women, and helmed by a queer showrunner, that's the greatest wish fulfillment a queer person could dream of. A partner who sees us at our worst, at our most potentially unattractive, and sees only beauty.
This episode makes me go insane guys, im sorry.

Mrs. Flood you’re the real villain.
Some fairies have taken residence on your property, and have grown fond of you, as much as those with such alien morals can. And they are not happy when the bank tried to foreclose on you.
I trudged past the sack of gold coins - the third one this week, each one larger than the last - as I headed to bed.
“I won’t take gifts!” Maybe it was the pressure that had me shouting at nothing. Only three more days to come up with the money, and I only just started my new job. “I know enough about you lot!” Maybe I was just tired… the first day of work had been exhausting on top of everything going on. “The gold wouldn’t work anyway. Too many questions…” My voice had dropped to a mumble as I flopped on my mattress.
In the morning, I was half expecting to find an even larger sack of gold sitting there. Instead, it was a stack of bills… and a piece of paper.
‘Rental Agreement’
I read through it carefully as I ate breakfast, then again once I’d gotten most of the coffee into my system. It seemed legitimate enough: the ‘Tenants’ - who were only named as such for the entire document - would pay rent regularly, continue living as they had been on the property (with a few clauses that I couldn’t get rid of them), and… that was it. A surprisingly simple deal, in spite of the elaborate legalese it was written in.
“…this amount is pretty high. My mortgage is barely half this. Are you sure it’s fair?” I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, honestly. Maybe for the number to start adjusting, or for a voice to suddenly speak up.
Instead, a shimmer at the bottom of the page caught my eye. The text above the 'Sign Here’ lines shifted as I watched, 'I certify that I find this deal equitable and agreeable’ being added to the rest.
I shrugged, feeling a smile creep onto my face for the first time in almost a month. I picked up the sparkly gold-and-purple pen that had been sitting with the contract… then paused.
“…actually, there’s one other change I’d like to make.” It was probably a terrible idea. I would almost certainly regret it later. But in the moment, suddenly feeling hope for the first time in far too long… I guess I just wanted to share some of that joy. “This part here, about the 'Tenants’ remaining unobtrusive. Maybe we could reword that? I wouldn’t mind a bit of company sometimes… so long as you still respect my privacy and any boundaries I set as we go, of course.”
I might have imagined the giggle, but I’m fairly certain the faint clapping was real. The text changed again, the page expanded as that section was quickly rewritten to include clauses about the 'Tenants’ coming and going in the main building as they wished, so long as they respected the customs, wishes, and requests of the 'Homeowner’. While I’m sure there could have been loopholes I didn’t catch, the wording all seemed to treat my decisions as the highest authority in the matter; it was heavily enough in my favor that I had to double-check that the 'equitable and agreeable’ bit was still down below.
“You really want me to keep this place, don’t you?” I smiled, then put pen to paper. “Well, so do I~”
As I scribbled my signature in glittery purple ink on the 'Homeowner’ line, several characters in a language I was unfamiliar with stamped themselves on the 'Tenants’ line just above. Squinting at them as I finished, I realized that *each one* was a name… I had at least eight fae leasing my property now.
As I set the pen down, it and the contract vanished… and in their place was a tiny winged humanoid figure, with too-big eyes and a pointy-toothed smile. “I shall represent the tenants! Nice to meet you, landlord!”
I bleched. “Right, I guess I technically am one of those now… I kinda hate the word, though.”
The faerie’s smile vanished as it tilted its head. “…what word should I use then?”
“Well, you can call me by my first name. I signed with it, so you should know it.” I hesitated, and it waited to see if I had more to say.
I knew enough fae lore to be cautious with things like this. Of course, I was also giddy, and found myself rather emotional over how much the tiny creature in front of me had just helped me. And I didn’t know *that* much, so I wasn’t sure if it would mean something more than I intended, but…
I opened my mouth again anyway. “You could also use, um… 'friend’? If you wanted?”
It stared at me unblinking for a moment… and then its face lit up. Literally. “FRIEND!” The buzzing, glowing ball impacted my collarbone, and I could feel it squeezing against me in something of an awkward hug. “We will be happy to call you that!”
“…friend.” I gently patted the little faerie, finally giving up on holding back my tears. “I’m happy you’ll be calling me that, too…”
